Psychology tells us that sharing builds trust, strengthens empathy, creates a sense of belonging, and helps forge lasting friendships. For many of us, lending a game to a friend wasn't just a way to save money—it was how we discovered new worlds, created lifelong memories, and built deeper connections with the people around us. Welcome to Part 4 of my series exploring how TTRPGs can benefit our mental health. We've already looked at using the Johari Window to discover more about ourselves and how tabletop role-playing games can act as a form of group therapy—even if we are only rolling ones. This week, we're exploring how TTRPGs can help us develop empathy, why empathy is such an important part of being human, and how role-playing lets us practise seeing the world through someone else's eyes. Full video live on our YouTube channel. Last week I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing the incredibly talented Hannah Hebblethwaite and this is part 1 of that delightful interview. In another baffling post online, writer, pundit, and man accused of domestic abuse, Jon Del Arroz once again proves that he not only doesn't know what he's talking about, but also seems determined to spread outrage for its own sake. RWBY fans finally have a reason to celebrate! After the heartbreaking closure of Rooster Teeth left the future of the beloved animated series in doubt, the Hunt is officially back on. Volume 10 has entered production, with the original main cast returning to announce the news. For many fans, it's proof that some stories refuse to stay buried. #northernireland #agameofthrones #houseofthedragonhbo #aknightofthesevenkingdomshbo #Ireland The cast OF BG3 talk Lord of the Rings

The Githyanki: What Happens When Trauma Becomes Identity

By David Cromie on March 3, 2026 • ( Leave a comment )

In Baldur’s Gate 3, many players met the Githyanki for the first time through Lae’zel — disciplined, aggressive, and utterly uncompromising. But the Githyanki are more than psychic warriors riding red dragons. […]

Discovering Your Unknown Self Through Roleplay

By David Cromie on February 24, 2026 • ( Leave a comment )

Roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons are often dismissed as escapism, but long-term players know something deeper is happening. People don’t just create characters — they reveal themselves through them. Patterns emerge […]

We Don’t Need Kings

By David Cromie on February 17, 2026 • ( Leave a comment )

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms reinforces a powerful theme at the heart of A Song of Ice and Fire: authority is not the same as virtue. The Targaryens are treated like […]

The Spider-Man Noir Trailer looks exquisite

By David Cromie on February 13, 2026 • ( Leave a comment )

I wasn’t sure if I wanted this show, but after seeing the trailer I’m pretty sure I need it. Nic Cage is bringing that novoshamanic energy and I’m here for it.

Wear it like Armour – A Lesson from Game of Thrones

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms continues to blow me away with every episode. And with every episode I keep getting the same nagging thought, the series has some deep messages about […]

BALDUR’S GATE IS COMING TO HBO

By David Cromie on February 6, 2026 • ( Leave a comment )

Hold up. Pause everything. Cancel your plans. I need everyone to stand very still while I finish frothing at the mouth.Because HBO — yes, that HBO — is bringing Baldur’s Gate 3 […]

Crunchyroll To Increase Prices

By David Cromie on February 4, 2026 • ( Leave a comment )

“I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!” — the quote immortalised by Peter Finch in the 1970s classic Network — feels uncomfortably appropriate right now. Last […]

Baldur’s Gate 3’s lost character

By David Cromie on February 3, 2026 • ( Leave a comment )

During early development, Baldur’s Gate 3 nearly featured a fully fledged bard companion — and no, it wasn’t Alfira. That honour belonged to Helia, a scrappy halfling bard with a dark secret: […]

Did Jeffrey Epstien Help Ruin Modern Gaming?

By David Cromie on February 2, 2026 • ( Leave a comment )

I think we can all agree that Jeffrey Epstein was an absolute piece of human garbage. And frankly, if there is a hell, I hope he’s rotting in it. Compared to everything […]
