Nickelodeon returned to San Diego Comic Con this year with their “ Fun Flows Here” offsite, and it certainly lived up to its name.

On entrance, attendees were a given a card that entitled them to a snack, drink and souvenir.

The snack was an adorable SpongeBob SquarePants ice cream that tasted fruity and sherbet-like, and was perfect in the hot weather.

To wash it down, guests could choose between a bottle of SpongeBob or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle themed water. The bottle was designed to be refillable making it a bonus keepsake to take home.

For the souvenir, there was a SpongeBob bucket hat or Nickelodeon mini-umbrella.

There was even more swag to be had as jars of slime were provided for guests to take home. Attendees could even customise them, adding glitter and beads to the slime making each jar personalised.

The slime didn’t stop there as Nickelodeon decided to bring their famous slime booth to Comic Con. A once in a lifetime experience – fans could sign up to take part in the legendary sliming themselves. For those that didn’t want to get messy, ponchos were provided.

Getting slimed wasn’t the only activity. For budding artists, the offsite gave them the opportunity to work with Nickelodeon artists to craft their favourite characters.

It wouldn’t be a SDCC offsite without a photo op, and Nickelodeon brought several including Avatar: The Last Airbender, SpongeBob, and a Kid’s Choice Awards op where attendees got to hold the award and strike a pose.

And after all that, guests were treated do entertainment on the main stage with dance parties, trivia, and appearances by iconic Nickelodeon characters.

The Nickelodeon Fun Flows Here activation was a brilliant offsite, both for children and adults alike. It was a real celebration of the shows we all know and love, and you could tell it was planned with the fans in mind. With snacks, drink, swag and unique activities, Nickelodeon had the perfect formula for a successful offsite. Fingers crossed they return next year!
