Ghost of Tsushima Looks Epic

This was a game that frankly I originally did not care for, but as you might have guessed, things have changed. Ghosts of Tsushima is set during The First Mongol invasion of Japan. Tsushima island was the first part of Japan to be attacked and its defenders where out numbered, but fought valiantly, truly living up to the legend of the Samurai, sadly in the end they would loose. Though Japan would indeed force the invaders off their land.

Ghost of Tsushima is Set on Tsushima Island in 1274.  It will revolve around one of the islands last remaining samurai, Jin Sakai (Daisuke Tsuji), during the previously mentioned first Mongol invasion of Japan. In it’s short existence The Mongol empire has conquered and devastated many countries, it wants Japan next.

Tsushima is the first step in invading Japan. To conquer it a huge international fleet has been formed. The island was devastated by the first wave of the Mongol invasion. The island’s samurai forces fought against overwhelming odds and were defeated. After most of his clan is wiped out he is let with the impossible decision to continue fighting the way he was trained or use unconventional means. There is actual history at play here because the Japanese at first had issues with fighting the Mongols because they where unfamiliar with this type of warfare. In the end Jin resolves to do whatever it takes to take back his home. Jin will have to master a new fighting style, the way of the Ghost, to defeat the Mongol Empire and fight for the freedom and independence of Japan.

Just reading that gave me chills and I for one am looking forward to playing this game. The game looks like your stepping into a Kurosawa film it is epic, beautiful and cinematic, exactly what we need in modern gaming.
