More interesting news from Warner Bros. Animation today. It appears that they have teamed up with Ava DuVernay, A Wrinkle in Time and When They See Us, to bring Wing of Fire to our screens. If you have never heard of Wings Of Fire then you are in for a treat. Wings of Fire is a series of fantasy novels written by Venezuelan-American author Tui T. Sutherland.
The novels are set in the fictional dragon-inhabited continents of Pyrrhia and Pantala, and chronicle the quests of young dragons to fulfill several prophecies. With each book being written to follow a different main character. This series is an epic adventure unlike any you have seen, because it is set in a world entirely ruled by dragons. Dragons that are divided across two continents and 10 tribes. It is a series that explores vicious wars, enduring friendships, and heroic quests that spans generations of enchanting dragon characters.
With more than nine million copies in print and available in 16 languages it is no surprise that Warner Bros. Animation had to fight off a lot of stiff competition to secure these rights. So you know this is going to be good. After all why both spending a small fortune on this only to mess it up?
If knowing that this is the studio that has brought us all the great DC direct to video films does not sell you then rest assured because Warner Bros. Animation is producing the project with DuVernay, who serves as executive producer, through her ARRAY Filmworks production company. Dan Milano (Glitch Techs), Christa Starr, Tui T. Sutherland and WBA’s Sam Register (Teen Tians Go!) are also on board as executive producers.
