I first came across Francesca McMahon’s work at my last MCM and I’m still kicking myself for not taking the time to properly chat with them. So this time around I made sure to pick up a copy of their fantastic book, The Spiral of Life, and give it a read before the convention. I ended up loving it so much that I had to reach out and see if they’d be interested in an interview to discuss representation, storytelling, and Celtic mythology.

In my personal opinion, it’s becoming harder and harder for new writers to break into the space, but I genuinely look forward to the day one of the major streaming giants brings Francesca’s work to a wider audience.
