I have never read anything with Elvira in it but after reading the opening paragraph I believe this will be a series I can get behind.
Dear reader you are probably wondering what is so special about this paragraph, well I guess you are going to have to grab a copy of the book and see for yourself because I am not telling.
As plots go this one is as original as it comes. The book follows Elvira (Based on the fictional identity of Cassandra Peterson, who used the identity when she hosted Elvira’s Movie Macabre) as she struggles to revitalize her career, along the way she befriends the ghost of the purely iconic Vincent Price. Together they need to find an old movie and save the world. So yes this is a very original idea, I fucking adore it and need more.
The book is very lighthearted yet full of charm and wit, worthy of Vincent Price himself. Writer David Avallone has created something special with this one, layering so much of the dialogue with references to what has come before, Avallone definitely knows his stuff. Mix that in with the gorgeous art work of Juan Samu and the colors of Walter Pereyra and you are left with a must have comic book.
This is a fantastic set up and as a new comer I found it easy to dive into. A great series and one I cannot wait to see more of these two iconic horror icons.
If you are looking a copy then do not fret as it will be sale from the 4th of August 2021.
