“All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That’s how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day.” – The Joker, The Killing Joke.
That quote sums up the tone of this film. After all we can take a lot of crap in this life, but it just takes one awful shitty day to break us beyond repair, to shatter that thin veil we call civilization and bring out the real beast within us.
Joker looks to be a terrifying look into how fragile our humanity really is and the worst bit is, I think I will be cheering him on. This is a film for anyone who has ever been bullied, tormented or generally just shit on. Joker will be a story for the underdogs. After all who is his greatest enemy, a rich billionaire in a fancy suit, The Joker is the ultimate expression of the masses against the classes and maybe this film will remind us that we all need to rage against the machine, before our rage breaks us.
