Superman #1(2016) Comic Book Review

If last week’s Action Comics left you with a few questions, this week’s Superman is going to leave you with a few more. We follow the Man of Steel as he tries to live a normal farm life with his wife and son. You would think this to be a dull humdrum series but the change from dramatic over the top action to this more low key story is a breath of fresh air, at least for me. The first issue focuses more on the son of Superman than Superman himself, but this to me is the great strength because here we have the next generation of hero and we can see how a young boy with Kryptonian burgeoning Kryptonian powers will progress in the 2010’s. Kind of like Smallville only more 2D.

It’s a gorgeous issue to pick up and to go through and it is setting up a much larger story so if you’re a fan of the man in blue then this series is for you. It’s fresh, full of heart and is going to lead to something epic so pick it up and give it a read.
