Look, I’m not going to judge you if you say yes to this, but have you ever wanted to wake up beside the Dark Lord Sauron in the morning?

If that sounds like you, then buddy, I’ve got the pitch for you.

Fanhome, the company behind a growing range of subscription-based collectibles and build-your-own models, has unveiled something rather spectacular for The Lord of the Rings fans: a gigantic build-your-own statue of Sauron, the Dark Lord of Mordor.

And when I say gigantic, I mean it.

The completed model stands 33 inches tall, depicting Sauron as he appeared during the War of the Last Alliance in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

So, sadly, this isn’t casual Sauron relaxing around Barad-dûr on his day off. This is full-blown, terrifying, mace-swinging, armies-of-Mordor Sauron.

Clad in his iconic armour, Sauron carries his enormous mace and even wears the One Ring upon his finger — presumably because displaying the most important object in Middle-earth on an easily removable extremity worked out so well for him the first time.

Straight Out of Middle-earth

One of the more interesting things about the model is its pedigree.

The statue has been produced using designs originally created by the world-famous Wētā Workshop, whose artists were responsible for helping bring Peter Jackson’s vision of Middle-earth to life.

That means Fanhome isn’t simply producing something vaguely inspired by Sauron’s appearance. The model draws upon the actual design work behind the cinematic version of the Dark Lord.

And they’ve certainly gone all-in on the accessories.

Sauron comes with an adjustable fabric cape alongside several detailed metal weapons, including a massive 17-inch mace, an 18.8-inch sword, a dagger and the broken sword Narsil.

You’ll also get a replica of Elendil’s helmet, with the various accessories incorporated into a premium display base designed to make the finished statue even more imposing.

Because apparently a nearly three-foot-tall Sauron wasn’t imposing enough already.

You Have to Build the Dark Lord Yourself

There is, however, one small catch.

Sauron arrives in pieces.

Which, admittedly, is pretty lore accurate.

Rather than receiving the complete statue, subscribers will gradually construct the Dark Lord themselves as part of Fanhome’s build-your-own collection.

Fanhome says the process has been designed to be accessible even for people without previous model-building experience. Each stage includes an illustrated step-by-step guide, with the necessary tools provided as part of the collection.

So you don’t need to be a veteran miniature painter, professional model maker or servant of Morgoth to put him together.

Although I imagine patience will help.

Sauron Is Coming

Pre-orders for the collection opened in July 2026 in France and the Czech Republic, while US and UK pre-orders are scheduled to open in September 2026, with the first components expected to begin shipping this autumn.

It’s certainly one of the more ambitious Lord of the Rings collectibles we’ve seen recently.

A 33-inch recreation of Sauron, based on Wētā’s original designs, complete with metal weapons, Narsil, Elendil’s helmet and the One Ring?

That’s an impressive centrepiece for a collection.

It’s also almost certainly going to result in at least one person waking up in the middle of the night, seeing the silhouette of Sauron standing in the corner of their bedroom and briefly believing that the armies of Mordor have finally arrived.

And frankly?

That’s a risk I’m willing to take.
