OMG… it’s happening.
The cast of The Guild are reuniting—and it’s going to be epic.
For anyone a bit too young to remember, The Guild is the original comedy web series created by her royal highness Felicia Day, who also stars as Cyd Sherman (AKA Codex). It first premiered on July 27, 2007, and ran until 2013.
The show follows the lives of an online gaming guild—The Knights of Good—who sink countless hours into a fantasy MMORPG known simply as The Game. At its heart is Codex, the guild’s healer, as she tries (and often fails) to balance her real life with her gaming addiction.
At the time, it was genuinely revolutionary. The Guild helped define what a web series could be and played a huge role in shaping early YouTube storytelling. Honestly, I could gush about this for hours—but there’s a reason we’re talking about it right now…
The Guild is coming back—as a movie.
Over the years, The Guild has expanded far beyond a web series—into comics, a stage play, and even music videos. So seeing this absolute gem of nerd culture return? Yeah… I’m hyped.
Over on watchtheguild.com, Felicia Day the high queen of nerdom had this to say:
“Help us celebrate The Guild’s upcoming 20th anniversary by being part of our most epic quest yet. That’s right, we need your help making a full-length film that reunites Codex, Zaboo, Vork, Tink, Clara, and Bladezz for an adventure unlike anything they’ve ever faced before. And yes, that’s vague, we know. Which is why you should sign up below to receive updates about the crowdfunding campaign later this summer.
Let’s get Kickstart’d!”
If you’re even remotely a fan, head over there and sign up—this is one comeback you won’t want to miss.
