I guess Disney are having to tread lightly here, after all no one really knows when we will see this movie. As for the movie so far we do not know much about it. The only thing we can tell so far is that it involves a dragon and the fictional land of  Kumandra, in which the film is set, is inspired by Southeast Asian cultures from Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Laos.

Official information has this to say:

“Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.”

So far the film looks beautiful, as it should and it is supposed to have a very diverse cast – Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina have both been confirmed. But beyond that we really do not know much. Still I am pretty sure this film will be a hit. After all it’s a Disney film.
