Now this is some interesting news. Not a huge surprise but for a while now we have all known that Christian Bale was set to play a role in the new Thor film and I think many like me had assumed it was that of the villain. But the news has officially just been confirmed.

In a recent interview with ET Online Star Tessa Thompson, who you should all know as Valkyrie, had this to say about Bale:

“Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic,” said Thompson “I’ve read the script. I can’t tell you much. Lots of exciting text messages exchanged between Natalie and I. We’re going to have fun. Taika is writing [and] directing. Some familiar faces. Some new people coming into the mix.”

This is fantastic news because Bale for all his faults is an “Actors Actor” in that even when he does big budget films, we goes all in and gives all he has. The man definitely has range and I would love to see him do a little comedy so yes by all means please let him play the villain.

Also let us not forget that Natalie Portman will be returning to the franchise along side director Taika Waititi. This could easily be one of Marvels best films if not the best.
