Cost: Tickets are free but they are not available yet, the link to claim tickets when they are made available is Once you’ve claimed your ticket online, you will need to collect your ticket in person on the day of taping so don’t forget to bring your ID. There will also be standby tickets available from 8AM each morning, last year those with tickets and those in standby queued together in one queue so it may seem long but it isn’t as bad as you think it will be. Although for those on standby be prepared to queue up much earlier then 8AM if you want to stand any chance of getting a ticket especially for Saturday’s taping with the Suicide Squad cast. There is limited availability each day for standby tickets so like everything else at San Diego Comic-Con International you need to put in the time and queue for long hours.

For those lucky enough to get a ticket to any of his tapings between Wednesday 20th and Saturday 23rd July, 2016 they will be given one of the limited edition and exclusive Funko Pops after each taping. They will be airing the Conan tapings between Wednesday 20th  July, 2016 to Sunday 24th July, 2016 but the tapings at San Diego will be from Wednesday 20th to Saturday 24th July, 2016 which means one day could essentially have two live tapings.

If you attend the taping on Wednesday 20th July, 2016 you could be given the Conan Stormtrooper Funko Pop, if you attend the taping on Thursday 21st July, 2016 you could get the Superman Conan Funko Pop, if you attend the taping on Friday 22nd July, 2016 you could get the Ghostbuster Conan Funko Pop and last but not least if you attend the taping on Saturday 23rd July, 2016 you will get your hands on the Joker Conan Funko Pop. The order in which each Funko Pop is given out is based on a theory in that they are given out in the order they appear in the photo, just like last year. However those who attend on Saturday will definitely get the Joker Funko Pop since that day’s guests are Suicide Squad cast.

The fan-first event, which takes place from Thursday, July 21 through Sunday, July 24, is located next to all the action at the convention center. Free and open to the public, visitors can relax and enjoy picnic areas, food trucks, phone-charging and hydration stations – or get groomed at the Schick Hydro Super Shave Shop, treat themselves at the SweeTARTS “Follow Your Tart” custom candy lab, and take photos in the PEOPLE/Entertainment Weekly Network Paparazzi photo booth. Throughout the convention, the Entertainment Weekly Spotlight Stage will host favorites from movies, TV, and comics.

Among the special guests expected to attend Con-X are members of the casts of Teen Wolf and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Plus, on Wednesday, July 20, Troye Sivan will perform a kick-off concert beginning at 7 p.m. local time at Horton Plaza Park in the center of the Gaslamp Quarter.   • On display in the FX Sculpture Garden, fans can take advantage of social media worthy photo opportunities with iconic characters sculpted as busts including, Archer’s “Pam Poovey,”American Horror Story: Asylum’s White Nun, Man Seeking Woman’s Troll, The Strain’s“Quinlan,” Baskets’ Clown and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s “Frank Reynolds” as the “troll” character from The Nightman Cometh.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s Paddy’s Pub will offer an escape from the heat providing water on tap for fans to stay cool throughout the day. A real bar will house the water taps and consumers will receive a branded collapsible cup to enjoy their drink. The FX Lounge will also be available throughout the day to provide shade and entertainment, where guests can rest their feet in seating inspired by some of the world’s most iconic chairs re-interpreted as notable props from various FX series, including the American Horror Story: Hotel Mattress as a Barcelona Bench and Archer’s Martini Olive as an Oliva Chair.

Bio: Elizabeth “Beth Phillips” is a Research Psychologist with StraCon Services Group in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division in Orlando, Florida. Beth recently finished her PhD in Human-Robot Interaction at the University of Central Florida. Songwriter Marian Call hosts her annual extravaganza of science and art for the sixth year in a row, featuring special guests to entertain and inspire. This year will feature historical comic artist & man-about-the-internet David Malki of Wondermark — also dramatic readings by writers Kayla Cagan and Josh A. For a chance to win access to the screening, please go to Embarcadero Marina Park South (see the map below for exact location) starting at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 20, where a drawing will start at 12:00 noon. Once there, get in line to pick a ticket out of a container. The winning tickets will have a distinct stamp on the back. Once a winning ticket has been drawn, the ticket will be exchanged for two wristbands that will admit the wearers into the World Premiere of Star Trek Beyond! If you do not draw a winning ticket, you may return to the end of the line to try again until all winning tickets have been drawn. Only one winning ticket is allowed per person. Tickets will be drawn between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM or until all winning tickets are drawn. Both people wishing to attend the screening must be in attendance at the time of the drawing to be wrist-banded.

All winners need to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the screening start time in the line at the designated area at Embarcadero Marina Park South or their seats may be forfeit.

The world premiere of the film will take place at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016. It will be an outdoor IMAX experience on July 20, 2016 at Embarcadero Marina Park in San Diego. The film will be accompanied with a live score performance by the San Diego symphony orchestra composed by Michael Giacchino.

Update 13/6/16:

Skydance Media announced a contest today to give away tickets to the world premiere at Comic-Con. Two separate winners will each receive two tickets to the screening at San Diego Comic-Con, as well as round-trip airfare anywhere in the US, one hotel room for two nights, and $250 in spending money.

To enter, all you need to do is share their trailer link, write one sentence about why you are a Star Trek Beyond fan, and tag them on social media on Facebook, Tumblr, Google+, Instagram, or Twitter between now and July 4th 2016.

“Star Trek: 50 Artists. 50 Years,” a new art exhibit created to commemorate Star Trek’s 50th anniversary, will feature Star Trek-inspired works by 50 artists from 10 countries around the globe, including one by Leonard Nimoy, the franchise’s iconic Spock and a renowned photographer. The exhibit will include original 2D and 3D pieces by the artists, who selected a variety of mediums — illustrations, photographs, sculptures, paintings, graphics and more — to express their love of the franchise and the inspiration gained from it.


The global art exhibition will debut at Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts in San Diego’s historic Gaslight Quarter during Comic-Con, from July 21-24. To promote the upcoming August release of the film Warner Bros. has announced that it will take over 6000 square feet of the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, California to recreate Belle Reve penitentiary during this year’s Comic-Con. Attendees will be able to explore each day of the convention from 10 am to 7 pm, in addition to taking part in a virtual reality experience that puts users into the midst of a scene from the Suicide Squad movie, visiting Harley Quinn’s tattoo parlor, and taking photos inside a recreated Belle Reve jail cell.

Syfy will invade the world’s largest pop culture convention this summer with SYFY PRESENTS LIVE FROM COMIC-CON, a three-night telecast directly from the heart of San Diego Comic-Con. The special – Syfy’s first-ever live broadcast from Comic-Con – will air on the network Thursday, July 21 through Saturday, July 23 at 8/7c.

Each night, SYFY PRESENTS LIVE FROM COMIC-CON will bring the Con’s non-stop action directly to viewers across the country, featuring celebrity interviews, breaking news and behind-the-scenes reports.
