Nerdgeist’s Christmas Wishlist

blue christmas card

Christmas is fast approaching so we thought we’d better get our wishlist into Santa (AKA our parents). This wishlist features items relating to Game of Thrones, Star Wars and of course, Joss Whedon. Hopefully it will give you inspiration for your own Christmas wishlist or at least give you ideas of what to buy your friends.

1. The Murder, He Wrote t-shirt by Tom Trager

The joke is as follows: “Joss Whedon, George R. R. Martin, and Steven Moffat walk into a bar and everyone you’ve ever loved dies.” Known for breaking fans’ hearts, these 3 icons finally get their comeuppance in this awesome t-shirt which shows the writers in a police line-up.

2. You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost): A Memoir by Felicia Day

Felicia-Day-books-750x322

Queen of the internet, Felicia Day, has written a book. Cue copious squeals and cheers (including my own) across the world. Actress, writer, gamer, entrepreneur, innovator; Felicia Day has done it all, and there’s no doubt that she’ll have some hilarious and interesting stories to tell.

Technically this book isn’t available until 2015 but I’m so excited by it that it just had to be featured on this list. You can however pre-order it, or wish that Santa brings it to you early.

Available to pre-order at amazon.com

3. Superhero Bathroom Commando

Simply put, every bath time should be this fun. Armed with a water gun, your mission is to take down your villainous foes. Become a hero in this epic game that not only makes baths more enjoyable but also improves your aim.

4. Firefly Serenity Ice Cube Tray

So there are a lot of themed ice cube trays. Star Wars, Doctor Who, Batman; it’s all the rage. But nothing excited me more than seeing my favourite ship in ice form. Just imagine it’s a hot summer’s day, you’re relaxing with some lemonade (or vodka) and you look down and see Serenity. Perfection! Or on a cold winter’s day use the moulds to make Firefly themed chocolates. So many possibilities!

5. Nerdtivity Play Papercraft

getD_Nativity_Figuren

Make the holidays a little geekier with this fantastic decoration. It’s a DIY job where you put the pieces together, taking you back to your primary school days (lots of cutting and sticking). However it’ll all be worth when you see the likes of Rick Grimes, Blade and Gandalf in your nativity scene.

6. The Iron Shoes by Nixxi Rose

I’ll admit I have a bit of a shoe addiction………and a Game of Thrones addiction. Never did I think that the two would collide until I saw The Iron Shoes. Beautifully designed and intricately handcrafted these shoes are the perfect fit for GoT fans. A genius combination!

7. Batman Look-ALite

Batman-Front_Edit-540x720

There’s a whole range of geeky lights on the internet, but none better than the Look-ALite. Undeniably cute, the light is great for both adults and kids. If Batman isn’t your thing, then you can choose from Superman, Darth Vader, Walter/Jesse, a Stormtrooper or Elvis. Yes, even Elvis. It’s the perfect way to brighten up your home!

8. Star Wars Lightsaber BBQ Tongs

When I see anything Star Wars themed I get a bit excited. When I see anything lightsaber themed I get even more excited. So naturally when I saw these BBQ tongs I was very happy. Not only will they help you flip your burgers to the dark side, they also have the classic lightsaber sound effects. This geektastic tool is guaranteed to make barbecuing more fun!

9. The Walking Dead Monopoly

Monopoly has always been one of my favourite board games. In recent years there have been many TV/movie themed versions to satiate us geeks. However combining it with The Walking Dead is probably the smartest move yet. I mean, what other board game out there has a bucket of human giblets as a playing piece?

Available to pre-order at firebox.com

10. Living Language Dothraki: A Conversational Language Course

81-AbRGgCIL

Many people will become fluent in another language at some point in their life. But instead of learning Spanish or French, why not give a fictional language a try? Over the years fans have had the opportunity to learn Klingon, Elvish, Na’vi, etc. The latest language on offer is Dothraki as heard in Game of Thrones. The book and CD package is shown above but more dedicated fans can also sign up for an online course.

Available here: livinglanguage.com/dothraki

So that’s our completed wishlist. A renewed Netflix subscription and tickets to San Diego Comic Con would also be a great bonus. If there’s anything you think we should add, let us know. Lastly, I hope everyone’s been good this year and Santa delivers you some wonderful gifts. Merry Christmas from us here at Nerdgeist.
