The series follows a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who travel to a research facility in the Arctic to investigate a potential outbreak of disease. While there, they find themselves stuck in a life-or-death situation. I have only seen the first two episodes and I am hooked, being set out in the arctic it draws me back to John Carpenters, The Thing. you feel that serious isolation, even at the beginning they mention that the nearest base is only 200 miles away, only shouldn’t apply in that situation but never the less its how the characters feel when first going into that situation.
The series is great in that there is so much going on in the background, when and it does not only followsthe scientific problems but it delves into the human ones as well with people easily turning on each other and others struggling to work with each other. Its early days but there are several characters I am already struggling to trust, which is great, this is a fantastic series and I am hoping it keeps the pace for its run.
With Billy Campbell (The 4400 and The Killing) and Hiroyuki Sanada ( The Last Samurai and 47 Ronin) both in lead roles this series has great potential.
