This one surprised me just a little, because I never thought I would say the day.
Black Adam has been in development hell for years, with The Rock always cast in the role of Black Adam himself. It in many ways is tied to the SHAZAM plot from the DCEU. The film will tell the tale of a man born on September 11, 1279 BC and named as Teth-Adam. It seems that in the film he will be a slave or member of the lower class of the nation of Kahndaq. At some point the Wizard Shazam is impressed with Teth Adam and blesses him with the stamina of Shu, the swiftness of Heru (Horus), the strength of Amon, the wisdom of Zehuti (Thoth), the power of Aton, and the courage of Mehen.
Becoming Might Adam he would go on to free his homeland of its evil leaders and become a force for change. The only problem is, absolute power, corrupts absolutely. Adam would become a tyrant in his own right, deciding that the ends justify the means. For this Shazam would imprison Adam. Sadly due to meddling oh the villainous Blaze Adam would keep his powers and in the modern era he would break free.
This is why Shazam spends eons searching for someone who is pure of heart, because he does not want another Black Adam. Interestingly enough it is through Billy Batson, the current Shazam, that Black Adams begins to find redemption. Throughout his time in the comics he goes from outright villain to member of the JSA, to political leader to Anti-Hero.
He is probably one of DC’s best characters and if used correctly he could be utterly fascinating to watch.
