Laika Are Back At San Diego Comic-Con 2018

Laika are one of the most innovative studios working today, with brilliant yet unconventional films such as Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls and Kubo and the Two Strings. Laika have taken stop motion to a whole new level. Creating stunningly visual tales that will fill you with wonder and joy. Last year at SDCC 2017 we where lucky enough to look behind the curtain and get a brief glimpse of the madness that Laika have created. Below is a little example of what they had to offer.

I tell you all of this because Laika are back for another year. What I have shown you is merely a teaser, I will admit that the filming was a little limited as I had hurt my arm on the previous night so my apologies, but why watch the video when you could spend all day looking at their displays and models, because they are so detailed and gorgeous its mind boggling. What makes this even better is that this year’s space is three times the size of last year’s offsite event.  To sweeten the pot for 2018, LAIKA is truly going to immures you in their movies, letting you experience ever aspect of what they create.

Mix in tech demonstrations, the chance to win the highly coveted Laika – Coraline Dunks from Nike and a great selection of merchandise, this will be one of the best offsite events at SDCC 2018. I fell like you should know that I myself am not even attending, I just love everything that Laika do and the fact that this event is free makes it all the more wonderful.

If this isn’t enough to temp you to visit then it is my solemn duty to inform you that there will also be an autograph signing with LAIKA President & CEO Travis Knight and Coraline author Neil Gaiman on Saturday, July 21 at 12:30PM-2PM. To be guaranteed to get into the signing, you need to purchase the gorgeous Coraline print set for $200. Otherwise, there will be a standby line. So if you are in San Diego over the next few days then go check them out, they will be at 350 5th Avenue right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter.
