As DC comic books go this one is a bit of an odd ball as it’s not quite like anything else, it runs more like Scooby Doo in Gotham rather than the quasi Batman title that it is. Our story picks up as the new semester is about to begin and Olive is alone at the school. This is a teen tragedy with a twist, it’s wonderful, whimsical and wistful all at once, in ways it’s a genre breaker, but in the end this is only a tease to what is going to come. We spend the whole story following our melancholic heroine as she tries to live her hollow life in this strange and kinda creepy school. I always loved Gotham Academy for its change of pace in the usually grim world of Gotham. With some beautiful art and now the addition of one of Gotham’s oldest families, this comic book series is going to add a new depth to the city of Gotham and I really can’t wait to read more.
