Marvel celebrates 75th Captain America anniversary with 13 Foot Bronze Statue

It only took 75 years but it seems the beloved Marvel comic book superhero Captain American will finally get his own statue. Yes its been 75 years since Steve Rodgers, Captain America, graced us with his presence back in 1941. Captain America has had a great year so far, thanks to the huge box office success of his latest film Captain America: Civil War.

Marvel revealed today that a 13-foot-tall bronze statue of Captain America will be unveiled at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con before heading out on a nationwide tour. The statue will then be delivered to Prospect Park in Brooklyn on August 10th, where it will remain on permanent display. It’s a nice homage to Captain America as he grew up in Brooklyn. Until it is officially unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con we will have to make do with this preliminary artwork released by Marvel, which suggests that the statue is a recreation of Chris Evans’ version of Cap from Captain America: The First Avenger.
