Samurai Cop 2 (2015) Film Review

It’s 25 years later, and Detective Frank Washington is forced to team up with his long estranged partner Joe Marshall to solve a series of assassinations. I am going to guess and say that does not make any sense to you, don’t worry I will make a little jump backwards for you. Follow me and take a trip back to 1991 . Before we begin bare in mind that if it was not for the Iranian revolution this film may never have happened. It starts with Amir Shervan a man who was fairly successful in his home of Iran. Due to the revolution he was forced to leave Iran and go create films in the states, this is where he created the wonderfully awful but still brilliant cult classic Samurai Cop. Samurai cop follows two police detectives who must stop the ruthless activities of the Katana, a renegade Yakuza gang composed of violent and sadistic killers who want to lead the drug trade in Los Angeles. A film that is the most beautiful and special kind of awful, a real cult classic.

So this 1991 cult film got a 2015 sequel all thanks to crowd funding and yes before you ask I took part in it. Samarai Cop 2 see’s Frank and Joe back and kicking ass, in this brilliantly bonkers film that breaks all expectations and is just a cacophony of absurd , though word to the wise don’t watch this with your parents. This film is not for the young, but for the young at heart.

It’s cheesey, over the top and ridiculous with quite the random cast including adult film stars, Kayden Kross and Lexi Belle, Martin Sheen’s younger brother Joe Estevez, the very talented Bai Ling and finally in a villainous role the terrifically terrible Tommy Wiseau. I did warn you this is a random cast.

In the end this was a terrific film and just a fun enjoyable watch and I enjoyed every minute of this over the top spectacular, it may be a little ridiculous but that’s why i loved it and hope you all will enjoy it too.
