Death is always tragic and especially tragic in the case of the young. At the age of 33 actress Danika McGuigan has sadly left this world to soon. Many will know her as the extremely talented and up and coming actress from The Secret Scripture, while others may know her as the daughter of former Boxing Champion Barry McGuigan.

On the topic of her passing her Agency had this to say:

“It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our client and friend Nika McGuigan.

“Nika was an incredible and versatile talent who lit up our screens with her undeniable presence, sensitivity and superb comic timing.

“We will miss her very much and our thoughts are with her friends and family at this difficult time.”

Though the most beautiful outpouring of grief came from her brother who has this to say:

“My beautiful sister Danika lost her battle with cancer in the early hours of Tuesday morning, at the young age of 33.

“She overcame it once with a two year fight when she was 11 to 13.

“Myself, my brothers & parents were privileged to have another 20 years since the first battle with our amazing Nika.

“Unfortunately Nika couldn’t beat it again, but she fought so bravely until the end.

“I have memories that I’ll cherish for a lifetime & you will live on forever in spirit.

“I’m so so proud of you! Love you forever my older ‘little’ sister. RIP.”

Danika I never met you and sadly this world hardly knew you yet all reports say that you where a talented and wonderful person, who fought your cancer the way only a daughter of a boxer could, with dignity and bravery. I hope that you can rest in peace and please know that you will always be missed.
