So did anyone else other than me think it was weird watching the Oscars with no host. Sure they had some great presenters but I don’t know something was just missing this year. I know this is not the first time that the Oscars skipped did not have a host, so it really should not be a big deal, but still I feel like a host really helps bring a certain flare and character to a show. Honestly looking back I cant help but have fond memories about hosts such as Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg and Neil Patrick Harris. Sadly it’s almost impossible to find someone with universal appeal, because no matter what you do someone out there is going to be offended. Of course as with everything in this modern world people are posting odds on who will be next years host. (Honestly at this point nothing shocks me.)

Looking through the odds I find some of the names in the hat to be quite interesting, Of course Whoopi Goldberg is top she has hosted 4 times, which leaves her tied for 4th place in amount of Oscar ceremonies hosted. Being a women of color she also has great appeal, plus she is Whoopi Goldberg that alone is enough of a reason to want her to host. So ye she is a safe choice and one I can see getting the gig but there are a few other contenders out there.

There is of course a lot of professional hosts in the running Ellen, Jimmy Fallon, James Corden, Seth Myers, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, again all would be fine hosts for the 2020 Oscar’s but personally there are two people I would love to see get the job.

One – Awkwafina. I absolutely love this women, she is utterly hilarious and it is an utter disgrace that she is only now finding fame. She is multi talented, witty, charming and has the ability to laugh at herself. The only thing holding her back is the fact that she is relativity young. Though given the chance I know she could hit it out of the park.

Two – John Mulaney. Another artist finally getting their respect. In his defense the man pulls of a three piece, he is hilarious and has a wicked tongue, so if your looking your host with a little bite he would be the perfect choice.

Oscar’s 2020 may seem a long way away but that does not mean we cant still put money who will host and I am calling it now it is either John or Awkwafina.
