Magic The Gathering is truly a classic, every nerd worth their salt knows of this game and plenty outside the nerd world know it too. I have many fond memories of playing this in the school library, in the local comic book shop and once at a house party while a riot was happening outside, this story is 100% true and if your wondering how I managed to keep playing in such conditions, well three reasons:
-
Pride
-
Whiskey
-
More Pride
Eventually I would move onto playing Magic The Gathering on my X-box 1, taking part in an auction at San Diego Comic Con back in 2012 and building my perfect deck. Magic has always been there, it help me make some great lasting friendships and even help me learn a little about myself. Most people do not know how deep the game gets, but each deck has its own play style and philosophy and in playing the game you learn what your inner philosophy is. When I started I used to play a White high defense deck, I found this too slow, then I moved onto a Blue control deck, which was to technical, now I am a proud Red/Black player, a deck which is all about speed, dirty tricks and overwhelming power. It’s now that I know that this is who I am, I am someone who likes to win quick and leave no survivors, though I tend to burn out pretty quick, and often over exert myself.
