I am finally pumped for this film, it looks like they have remembered what Transformers was all about, fun, and that is what makes this film so special. The previous few films have gotten to convoluted and serious. Not only that but this new film seems to appeal the people who grew up watching Generation 1 and 2 cartoons.
Below are a few of my personal highlight from the new Transformers trailer.
I am loving these new robot designs, they are a healthy mix of old Transformers and the newer movie designs.
This is the shot that finally won me over, you see Shockwave, Thundercracker and several other prominent Decepticons, not only do they appear here but they are in their original Generation 1 forms. It just shows a real respectful level of attention to detail that makes me think Bumblebee is the exact thing that this franchise needs.
This shot alone brings back memories from the very first ever episode of transformers. It seems like this film is doing what the Bay films never did, respecting the fan base.
Taking a page out of the Marvel playbook this film is treating the source material seriously.
One of the fans biggest treats is seeing Starscream appear on screen in his true form. He is also one of the strongest Decepticons in Cybertronian history and a graduate of the Cybertron War Academy, Starscream is a treacherous high-ranking Decepticon who turns into a jet fighter, and desires to replace Megatron as the leader of the Decepticons.
If that wasn’t enough we also get to see the true Optimums Prime.
This trailer really is the gift that just keeps giving, we now have an appearance by another fan favorite, Soundwave.
Soundwave is one of the most recognizable characters from the original Transformers line, because of his alternate mode – a microcassette recorder – and his distinctive monotone, computerized voice. Not only that he contained several cassette tapes each of which is a transformer too. One of these cassette’s is Ravage a vicious panther like robot.
