You may have already guessed that the annual Entertainment Weekly Comic-Con party would be back this year once they announced their first offsite event for fans, Entertainment Weekly Con-X.
Their Comic-Con party is the most exclusive and elusive invite to get with everybody wanting to get into the party, yes it’s that hard to get into that even celebrities have to wait in line to get in. Yes it’s the one and possibly only time you would see celebrities happily waiting in line for ages, sometimes for hours just to get into the party. Who wouldn’t love to have a place to relax, dance, play games, mingle, eat delicious free food and drink til you drop from the open bar? Having had the opportunity to attend Wired Cafe the last few years, I know the feeling all too well. While Comic-Con is great, it can at times be overwhelming with the crowd and the heat, sometimes you just need a breather.
Entertainment Weekly will host its annual Comic-Con party at FLOAT at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego on Saturday 23rd July 2016.
The most anticipated party of Comic-Con, this year’s Entertainment Weekly closing night bash will have activations from sponsor HBO and tunes from DJ Michelle Pesce.
Since it’s sponsored by HBO this year I wonder if they will offer Game of Thrones themed cocktails and beers at the bar, plush seats to sit in and chill or dare I say doggy treats (if you’ve seen the finale you know exactly what I mean), or even better the throne because everybody wants to sit on the throne.
For those of us who can’t manage to get an invite, fret not as we all still have Entertainment Weekly’s Con-X to look forward to. And who knows maybe during Con-X they will offer tickets to the party with competitions, well it’s wishful thinking but you never know as where would Entertainment Weekly be without their fans? Maybe offering this as an incentive could create a huge marketing and promotional opportunity for them.
