Which TV series can we expect at San Diego Comic-Con 2016?

Which TV series

With everyone gearing up for San Diego Comic-Con 2016, I take a guess at which TV shows I think will make a comeback or debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. Of course not every show is listed here but I will update this as more information becomes available about the status of regular and new shows.

Last Updated: Saturday 9th July 2016.

Agents of SHIELD

This really should come as no surprise, a renewal was always expected and I expect Marvel will once again bring back its cast and crew to San Diego Comic-Con International 2016. This show has come from strength to strength, it’s brilliantly written and well acted and I can’t wait to see what season 4 holds for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.

Update 30/6/16

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel will be on Friday 22nd July at 3PM-4PM in Ballroom 20.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D executive producer and head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb and cast members Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Iain De Caestecker, co-creators and executive producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, and executive producer Jeff Bell share the secrets, lies, and dangers of making season 3! See exclusive footage and surprise moments, and be the first to learn what’s in store for season 4! The action-packed series from Marvel Television returns this fall, only on ABC.

American Gods

American Gods is based on a successful novel by Neil Gaiman but the fact that the TV series is created by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) and it has an amazing cast (Ian McShane, Gillian Anderson,Emily Browning, Peter Stormare, Orlando Jones, Ricky Whittle and crispin Glover) is what makes this series all the more exciting. Fans are in eager anticipation to see this series when it airs and since filming is already underway the cast and crew could make an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016 as they could show a teaser during a panel. While Starz isn’t bringing Outlander to Comic-Con, it does look like they are bringing Ash Vs Evil Dead to Comic-Con since Bruce Campbell confirmed he would be there so I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t be there also to promote their new series American Gods.

Update 30/6/16:

American Gods panel is on Friday 22nd July at 3:15PM-4:15PM in Room 6BCF

Bryan Fuller (executive producer), Michael Green (executive producer), Ricky Whittle (Shadow Moon), Ian McShane (Mr. Wednesday), Pablo Schreiber (Mad Sweeney), Yetide Badaki (Bilquis), and Bruce Langley (Technical Boy) discuss the highly anticipated series and preview what’s to come in the premiere season. Moderated by Yvette Nicole Brown (The Odd Couple).

American Horror Story

As FX network’s highest rated show, a renewal was always predictable and FX certainly show no expense is spared when they promote this series at SDCC. With season one set in a haunted house, season two in an asylum, season three in an academy, season four in a circus and season five in a hotel, one can only guess where season 6 could be set. As soon as the details about the new series is announced we can certainly make a better educated guess as to what interactive events FX could have at SDCC 2016 to promote season 6.

Update 22/6/16: Sadly FX Networks will not be bringing American Horror Story to San Diego Comic-Con International this year.

Archer

This hasn’t been renewed yet for a eighth season and personally I hope it never ends as the adventures of Archer never ceases to amuse me. According to an interview in The Daily Beast the Archer gang are scheduled to appear at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International.

Update-22/6/16:

Archer: Screening and Q&A
Archer
is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around a former spy agency turned private investigation firm and its employees who use every seedy surveillance of a suspected adulterer or investigation into insurance fraud as another excuse to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gain. Come watch an exclusive never-before-seen video and then join the voice cast of H. Jon Benjamin (“Sterling Archer”), Aisha Tyler(“Lana Kane”), Jessica Walter (“Malory Archer”), Chris Parnell (“Cyril Figgis”), Judy Greer(“Cheryl/Carol Tunt”), Amber Nash (“Pam Poovey”) and Lucky Yates (“Dr. Algernop Krieger”), plus Creator / Executive Producer / Writer Adam Reed (“Ray Gillette”), Executive Producer Matt Thompson and Co-Executive Producer Casey Willis as they discuss bringing this animated series to life. (Friday 22nd July 5PM-6PM, Indigo Ballroom)

Arrow

Last year Stephen Amell walked onto the Hall H stage and debuted his new Green Arrow costume to the screams, thunderous applause and excitement of the crowd. The CW network and Warner Bros know exactly how to build up excitement among fans and potential fans for their upcoming TV shows and films. Now that the CW network has officially confirmed it is renewing all its shows including Arrow, we can certainly expect many more surprises at this year’s Comic-Con event in San Diego. What costumes or potential characters could we expect to be announced or to make an appearance at this year’s annual San Diego Comic-Con International for Arrow season 5?

Update 27/6/16: Good news as Warner Bros. Television confirmed they are bringing Arrow to San Diego Comic-Con International 2016 and yes Stephen Amell is one of the confirmed cast going. Echo Kellum is also confirmed to attend.

5:45–6:30 p.m in Ballroom 20 on Saturday 23rd July 2016. Stars and executive producers return to San Diego to break down what’s to come on the DC Comics adaptation.

Ash vs Evil Dead

Starz had so much faith in its new original show that they renewed it for a second season before the first season even aired. If a network holds a TV series with that much regard and confidence then it must be good. I must confess that I have not seen the Evil Dead film trilogy but the first season of Ash vs Evil Dead has me converted. Bruce Campbell has many brilliant one liners and he knows how to keep the viewers captivated and hanging by his every word. Bruce Campbell, if I ever meet you at SDCC 2016, I certainly want to shake your hand. If you’ve seen the films or the new TV series then you know what I mean as I don’t want to create any spoilers here.

AshVsEvilDead

UPDATE 28/5/16: Bruce Campbell has confirmed on his official website that he will be attending San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, could it be that he will be there for an Ash VS Evil Dead panel?

Update 30/6/16:

Bates Motel

Bates Motel has been renewed for a 4th and 5th season, A&E Networks always go out of their way to promote this show in a fun way such as when they built the Bates Motel at SXSW 2015 or their Playboy party at SDCC 2014. I’m looking forward to hearing how they plan to promote Bates Motel at SDCC 2016.

Update 29/6/16: Bates Motel will be at San Diego Comic-Con International and their panel will be on Friday 22nd July at 3:30PM in Room 6A.

Blacklist

I can never tire of hearing James Spader and neither do the fans now that its been renewed for a fourth season. His character Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington is both charming and captivating, you can’t help but like his character even if he does do questionable things. Here’s hoping James Spader will appear at SDCC 2016.

Blacklist: Redemption

What it’s about: Undercover operative Tom Keen teams up with Scottie Hargrave, the cunning head of a covert mercenary organization that tackles problems governments don’t dare touch. Facing difficult and dangerous missions Tom is also forced to face his own shadowy past.

I love the series The Blacklist and this spinoff series could potentially work as the main cast and characters are amazing although I will miss seeing Tom Keen in the original series The Blacklist. Since NBC always brings The Blacklist to Comic-Con International, it only logical that they would bring its spinoff series as well.

Blindspot

This new series turned out to be NBC’s top rated new show which means we can expect the cast to be back next year promoting a new season, season 2 is now confirmed and NBC seems to be confident that Blindspot is here to stay. This show has lots of potential to last a few seasons thanks to its amazing cast and the intriguing tattoos that lead to a new story in each episode.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that Blindspot will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast members Jaimie Alexander and Sullivan Stapleton are confirmed to attend.

Saturday 23rd July 2016 at 12-12:45 p.m., Indigo Ballroom.

Bones

Expect a fond farewell from cast and crew as the renewed 12th season will also be its last, make sure to queue up early and attend their final panel as it will certainly be a sad one.

Dark Matter

I’ll be honest I wasn’t sure if I would like this but I was hooked after the first episode and couldn’t wait for the next episode to find out what happens next. It’s been a while since a drama based in space got me this hooked. I’m so glad to hear they got renewed for a second season as nobody like’s cliffhangers. I wonder if the cast and crew will give us any hints at SDCC 2016?

Update 7/7/16:

In the midst of the epic space drama’s second season, cast members Melissa O’Neil(Two), Anthony Lemke (Three), Alex Mallari Jr. (Four), Jodelle Ferland (Five), and newcomer Melanie Liburd (Nyx) will discuss new storylines, characters, sets, and behind-the-scenes tidbits. There will also be some exclusive, never-before-seen footage shown.Thursday July 21, 2016 7:00pm – 8:00pm Room 6DE

Dark Matter - Season 1

Designated Survivor

What it’s about: A low level United States Cabinet member is suddenly handed the presidency when an explosion during the State of the Union address kills everybody above him in the presidential line of succession.

Kiefer Sutherland may not be in 24: Legacy as Jack Bauer but that doesn’t mean he won’t have an exciting new series debuting this fall with Designated Survivor. It’s just wishful thinking at this moment but it would be great if ABC promoted this new series at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016.

Designated Survivor

Emerald City

What it’s about: In a dark reimagining of the tales of Oz, Dorothy Gale is unwittingly sent on a journey that places her in the middle of an epic and dangerous war for the control of Oz.

NBC has been promoting this series at Comic-Con International as early as July 2014, after a few changes over the years it looks like NBC is finally bringing it to our screens this fall. I highly expect the cast and crew will be at Comic-Con International to promote the new series and they really need to especially with all the changes the past 2 years, they really need to drum up excitement and faith from potential fans for this.

Expanse

With Syfy renewing this series for a second season I really hope they bring back the Expanse cafe at the Mary Jane cafe at the Hard Rock hotel at SDCC 2016 like they did last year.

Uodate 9/7/16:

Syfy’s The Expanse

Get a sneak peek of the new season of Syfy’s critically acclaimed series from writers of Children of Men and Iron Man, based on the New York Times bestselling book series. Fargo

With a renewal approved for a third season, I wonder what direction it will take? I highly expect FX network to be back promoting this and their other shows with another off site event at SDCC 2016 like they have done in previous years.

Fear The Walking Dead

Looks like the cast of Fear The Walking Dead will be at San Diego Comic-Con International this July as actress Mercedes Mason confirmed through her official Twitter account that she will be there.

Update 18/6/16: According to Robert Kirkman, who will sadly not be attending San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead panels will take place on Friday 22nd July, 2016 in Hall H from 12pm.

Update Thursday 30th June:

“FEAR THE WALKING DEAD”

·         Panel from 12:00-1:00pm PT on Friday, July 22 in Hall H

“Fear the Walking Dead” panelists include cast members Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Frank Dillane, Lorenzo James Henrie, Mercedes Mason, Colman Domingo and Danay Garcia along with Executive Producer and Showrunner David Erickson, Executive Producers Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and Dave Alpert.   The panel will be moderated by “Talking Dead” host Chris Hardwick.

·         “Fear The Walking Dead” Abigail experience is free to all (ages 13+) and open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00am – 9:00pm PT.

Flash

Without a doubt the cast and crew of The Flash would be at San Diego Comic-Con especially since it has been renewed for a third season. The Flash has provided us with some amazing cameo appearances including Mark Hamill as the Trickster. I do wonder what potential cameos they have brewing for season three.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that Flash will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast members Grant Gustin, Danielle Panabaker and Keiynan Lonsdale are confirmed to attend.

Game of Thrones

It hasn’t been confirmed yet as HBO is still in talks about a season 7 and 8 for Game of Thrones but considering how popular the show is and the uproar a cancellation would cause it’s more than likely that it will be renewed. There is no word on whether the eighth season will be the end of the show either, with HBO programming president Michael Lombardo having previously told reporters he wanted “at least” eight seasons.

HBO will definitely be heading back to heavily promote the show, once the renewal has been confirmed, as they have done in previous years at San Diego Comic-Con.

Update 29/6/16:

The GAME OF THRONES panel will be moderated by Rob McElhenney. Panelists include: executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, director Michael Sapochnik and cast members (in alphabetical order) John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Isaac Hemptstead Wright (Bran Stark), Conleth Hill (Varys), Faye Marsay (The Waif), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark). Autograph signing is at 4:15 p.m.  (Hall H – Friday 22nd July, 2:15pm).

Gotham

I was actually surprised that Gotham was renewed for a third season but after watching the last few episodes of the current season I’m intrigued as they have finally gone in a dark direction. For me Batman has always been a dark hero, he and the other characters in the world of Gotham City are all humans with some darkness inside them. I know they started the show with the intention of keeping it family friendly but after the huge box office success of the Deadpool film, you really don’t need to sugar coat everything. I’m looking forward to what the next season has in store.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that Gotham will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast member Ben McKenzie is confirmed to attend.

Saturday 23rd July at 2:10-3 p.m., Indigo Ballroom.

4GothamCity

Warner Bros. Television always comes up with cool offsite events at SDCC for its shows including a zip line to promote Gotham. I wonder what they have planned for this year?

iZombie

iZombie has been renewed for a third season and David Anders confirmed he will be at SDCC 2016 through his official Twitter account.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that iZombie will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast members Rose McIver and David Anders are confirmed to attend.

Update 4/7/16:It looks like the whole cast will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, according to a tweet by Rahul Kohli.

Friday 22nd July at 5:30-6:30 p.m., Ballroom 20.

Legends of Tomorrow

So far Legends hasn’t impressed me as much as The Flash did when it first debuted but this show does have potential and it seems the CW network thinks so too as they have renewed it for a second season. It would be interesting to hear the creators and writers talk about what the second season could be about and what other possible characters we could be introduced to. The possibilities are endless especially since the characters can time travel. I do have to admit that Captain Cold is one of the best characters in the show, if only because Wentworth Miller knows how to put on a cheesy but brilliant performance with his puns and one liners.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that Dc’s Legends of Tomorrow will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast members Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Victor Garber and, Franz Drameh Arthur Darvill are confirmed to attend.

Lucifer

With no potential Hall H panels this year with films from 20th Century Fox, it looks like their main focus could be their TV shows and with Lucifer being renewed for a second season, it’s more than likely that the cast and crew will be at SDCC 2016. “Lucifer,” based on the DC Comics series, stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer, prince of darkness, living and solving crime in modern-day Los Angeles.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that Luicfer will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast member Tom Ellis is confirmed to attend.

Saturday 23rd July at 1:30-2:05 p.m., Indigo Ballroom.

Mr Robot

This was a critically acclaimed hit that many did not see coming, although we knew how good it would be when we watched its worldwide premiere at SXSW 2015, that it was even renewed for a second season before the pilot of the first season even aired. The panels for Mr Robot at SXSW 2015 and Nerd HQ 2015 where definitely highlights for me as they revealed how much work really went into making the series as realistic as possible when it comes to the world of hacking. I expect the cast and crew will be back st San Diego Comic-Con 2016 to promote the second season and any panels they do is definitely a must see and should be on your to do list.

Update 7/7/16:

Hello, friend. USA’s Golden Globe Award-winning series, Mr. Robot, is making its Comic-Con debut. Go behind the scenes with stars Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin and season 2 newcomer Grace Gummer as they discuss the series’ exciting second season. Mr. Robot follows Elliot, a cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their mysterious leader. Season 2 explores the consequences of fsociety’s 5/9 hack on multi-national company Evil Corp. as well as the illusion of control. Thursday July 21, 2016 6:00pm – 7:00pm Room 6BCF

Once Upon a Time

As a long time Disney fan, Once Upon a Time is definitely one of my guilty pleasures and I always love watching how they will bring old and new Disney characters into a live action TV series. I guess many people including the ABC network feel the same way as its been renewed for a sixth season. I highly expect the cast and crew to be back at SDCC this summer, I wonder what other beloved Disney characters they plan on introducing in its sixth season?

Update-22/6/16:

Adam Horowitz confirmed today that Once Upon a Time is heading to San Diego Comic-Con International 2016.

Update 9/7/16:

The Evil Queen is back! The heroes of Once Upon a Time grapple with the return of this super-charged classic villain, while also dealing with Mr. Hyde and the new arrivals from the Land of Untold Stories. And as your favorite Storybrooke residents help to find happy endings for these lost and forgotten stories, they’ll discover that they have some untold stories of their own. Co-creators/executive producers Edward Kitsis (Lost) and Adam Horowitz (Lost) and cast members discuss the upcoming season of unexpected twists, evolving characters, new adventures, and new rivalries, with moderator Yvette Nicole Brown. 100

The 100 has been officially renewed for a fourth season. When I watched the pilot I was quickly drawn in and with each episode of the first and second season I was impressed by the writers. They created plots and twists that I never saw coming and I can imagine, especially from what I’ve seen including season 3, that they can keep going for several more seasons. This is definitely one of CW network’s best television shows.

It looks like actor Isaiah Washington expects the cast of The 100 to be at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 as indicated from this tweet.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that The 100 will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast member Eliza Taylor is confirmed to attend.

Update 30/6/16:

The 100 panel is Friday, July 22 from 12:30-1:30 in Ballroom 20.

Cast members Eliza Taylor and Lindsey Morgan are confirmed to attend.

Originals

This show has been renewed for a fourth season, expect the beautiful cast of The Originals to be back at San Diego Comic-Con this year. Dare I say that I think this is better than The Vampire Diaries.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that The Originals will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast member Joseph Morgan is confirmed to attend.

Saturday 23rd July at 12:50-1:25 p.m., Indigo Ballroom.

Orphan Black

One of the best shows to come from BBC America, Orphan Black has been renewed for a 5th and final season. Watch out for news of potentially another official Clone Club fan party at SDCC this year, it will be a fond farewell.

Update 28/6/16:

BBC Americas’s award-winning original series Orphan Black returns for its fifth and final San Diego Comic-Con panel. Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominee Tatiana Maslany (Sarah and the Leda clones), Jordan Gavaris (Felix), Kristian Bruun (Donnie), Kevin Hanchard (Art), as well as co-creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson, will be joined by this year’s moderator Comedy Bang! Bang! host Scott Aukerman. They’ll look back at the entire series and offer clues to what’s next for the Clone Club. (Friday 22nd July 4:30PM, Room 6BCF).

Penny Dreadful

Personally I haven’t seen this yet but I’m sure fans will be glad to hear its been renewed for a third season which means the cast and crew are more likely to be back at SDCC to promote the new season.

Pitch

What it’s about: Chronicles the journey of a young pitcher who becomes the first woman to play in the major leagues.

Since they did filming at Petco Park in San Diego and it’s about baseball, San Diego Comic-Con International 2016 would be the perfect event to promote Pitch.

Powerless

Now this is the TV series I am most excited about potentially being at San Diego Comic-Con International this July. NBC has so much faith in this new comedy series that they have ordered a full season even before the pilot has aired. If any new series can do that with just the pilot then I’m really hoping we get a pilot screening of Powerless on preview night at Comic-Con International this July 20th, 2016.

This is a comedy set within a DC Comics inspired universe and has a brilliant cast including Alan Tudyk from Firefly, Danny Pudi from Community and Vanessa Hudgens. When Emily (Vanessa) stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures that she accidentally becomes a cult “hero” in her own right — even if it’s just to her group of lovably quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.

With a DC Comics inspired universe, a great cast and a full series already ordered this would be one of the most popular panels at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, should NBC bring the series to the convention.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that Powerless will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016.

Friday 22nd July at 2:30-3 p.m., Room 6BCF.

Prison Break

After you thought it had ended Fox is bringing back Prison Break next year and fan excitement has only intensified after the recent release of the official first trailer, I highly expect the cast and crew to have a panel this year to promote the show and maybe even show us a second trailer.

Fox’s Action Showcase: Prison Break and 24: Legacy Original Prison Break stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Robert Knepper, as well as producer Vaun Wilmott, show a special sneak peek of the upcoming revival. Followed by 24 cast members Corey Hawkins, Miranda Otto and Jimmy Smits, who join original series executive producers Howard Gordon, Manny Coto, and Evan Katz to preview the rebooted series. 12:30-1:30 p.m., Hall H.

Scream Queens

Fox TV networks went all out with their offsite events to promote the first season last year and with it being renewed for a second season I wouldn’t be surprised if they brought them back this year as well as the cast and crew for a panel at SDCC 2016. Their offsite events last year included a ride and photo opportunities which rewarded you with either promotional bubblegum or ice cream.

Friday 22nd July at 6:45-7:45 p.m., Ballroom 20.

Son of Zorn

What it’s about: An animated Barbarian man struggles to reconnect with his live-action family and adapt to suburban life when he returns home from war after 10 years.

If previous years have shown us anything is that San Diego Comic-Con International loves animation and comedies and Son of Zorn is the perfect blend of both. The panel for this would be one of the funniest should Fox decide to bring the cast and crew to Comic-Con International this year. The cast includes a lot of seasoned comedy actors like Jason Sudeikis, Tim Meadows and Cheryl Hines.

Saturday 23rd July at 5-6 p.m., Indigo Ballroom.

Star Trek

CBS recently released the first teaser trailer for their new Star Trek series which will premiere in 2017. With this year being the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, San Diego Comic-Con International 2016 would be the perfect opportunity for a cast and crew panel in Hall H and of course to premiere any potential trailers.

Update 5/7/16:

The franchise celebrates 50 years with a panel featuring stars William Shatner, Scott Bakula, Michael Dorn, Jeri Ryan and BrentSpiner with a panel Q&A moderated by CBS All Access’ Star Trek showrunner Bryan Fuller. The panel will reflect on 50 years of the various Treks as well as offer a look at what’s to come from Fuller’s series. 2-3 p.m., Hall H on Saturday 23rd July 2016.

Star Wars Rebels

This series being renewed should come as no surprise especially with all the Star Wars hype thanks to the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One next year. This is one for kids and adults alike, yep you can watch it with your kids and pretend it’s for the kids but we know it’s really for you.

Strain

I know some people would disagree with me but I actually enjoyed the first 2 seasons of The Strain and I’m actually looking forward to season 3. This is how vampires should be portrayed, not like the sparkling nonsense from Twilight or the too ridiculously good vampires from True Blood. Here’s coming FX Networks brings back another interactive zone to promote this at SDCC 2016.

the strainFX logos_0

Update-22/6/16:

The Strain: Screening and Q&A
The munchers are back! The Strain, FX’s action-packed vampire thriller based on the best-selling books from Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan debuts its third season on Sunday, August 28 at 10 PM ET/PT. At SDCC, get an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming third season, PLUS, the debut of a not-to-be-missed, Comic-Con Exclusive original video that’s sure to go viral. Join Showrunner / Executive Producer / Director / WriterCarlton Cuse, Co-Creator / Executive Producer / Writer Chuck Hogan, and stars Kevin Durand (“Vasiliy Fet”), Ruta Gedmintas (“Dutch Velders”),Richard Sammel (“Thomas Eichhorst”) and Miguel Gomez (“Augustin ‘Gus’ Elizalde”) as they discuss the challenges (and fun!) of bringing this chilling world to life. (Thursday 21st July 3:15-4:15PM, Ballroom 20)

Supergirl

Very few people probably predicted the success that it would be but that could be down to the first trailer that came out. The trailer made people nervous and many expected it to be a huge flop but once the pilot aired, it’s safe to say that most critics where silenced and clapped at the surprisingly job well done by the Supergirl creative team and cast. Supergirl has been renewed for a second season and will now move to the CW Network from CBS.

As the highest-rated premiere of any new broadcast series this season, one should expect a huge queue forming early for any potential Supergirl panels at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that Supergirl will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast member Melissa Benoist is confirmed to attend.

Saturday 23rd July at 3:30-4:15 p.m., Ballroom 20.

Supernatural

This is one show that proves that fans can keep a show going, I would have never guessed that Supernatural would have such staying power nor that it would be renewed for a 12th season. It amazes me that the writers can keep coming up with clever ideas to keep the show going for another season and another. It does make me wonder how they could end the show that would satisfy its fans? There is no doubt that the cast will be back again at San Diego Comic-Con this year, just make sure to keep a lookout in the Hall H line for Misha Collins serving coffee and pizza.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that Supernatural will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast members Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins and Mark A. Sheppard are confirmed to attend. Rob Benedict and Richard Speight Jr. will be moderating the panel.

Teen Wolf

I know what you are thinking, this sounds terrible but I’m glad I gave Teen Wolf a chance as it turned out to be much more than I could ever have anticipated. For one thing I didn’t ever think MTV would have a TV series this dark, this is definitely not a show for the young ones. The creators and writers have come up with so many brilliant characters and stories to keep it going for 5 seasons already. I’m looking forward to what surprises they will reveal in season 6. I expect the cast and crew of Teen Wolf to be back at SDCC 2016, just they’ve been every year, they love their fans and to party of course.

Update-22/6/16:

MTV  confirmed today that they are bringing the cast and crew of Teen Wolf to San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, it’s highly unlikely Dylan O’Brien will be there due his injuries from an on set accident while filming The Maze Runner: The Death Cure earlier this year.

Update 30/6/16:

Cast members and executive producer Jeff Davis will appear at a panel discussion/Q&A moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s resident TW expert Samantha Highfill in Ballroom 20 on Thursday, July 21 at 4:30PT. The gang will unveil an exclusive first-look Season 6 trailer.

MTV will also have its own branded booth (stop by, it’s #3729!) which will give fans an all-new, interactive Virtual Reality activation using first-to-market, gaze-activated technology. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to get autographs from a slew of MTV talent from Teen Wolf and The Shannara Chronicles. And yes, there will be free swag as well — including MTV portable chairs, MTV iFans, Teen Wolffangs plus posters for both series and more. Be on the lookout for more signing schedule updates on our Teen Wolf social accounts (look out for the hashtag #TeenWolfSDCC).

Time After Time

What it’s about: Chronicles the adventures of a young H.G. Wells and his time machine as he tries to catch a former friend turned serial killer.

This reminds me of Sherlock Holmes and from the trailer alone, this is going to be another exciting new series to debut this fall. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that ABC will bring the cast and crew for a panel at Comic-Con International 2016.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that Supernatural will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016.

Saturday 23rd July at 7:25-8:15 p.m., Room 6BCF.

Timeless

What it’s about: A history professor, a scientist and a soldier must travel back in time to stop a criminal who has stolen a time machine in order to change history and destroy the country.

From the trailer this is looking to be one of NBC’s most exciting new shows debuting this fall, hopefully NBC will bring the cast and crew to Comic-Con International because more people need to know about Timeless as we would love for it to be picked up for a full series.

24: Legacy

What it’s about: A military hero returns home and finds himself in great danger. With nowhere else to turn he asks the CTU for help in saving his life and potentially stopping one of the largest terror attacks on American soil.

Fox promoted 24: Live another day at San Diego Comic-Con International back in July 2014 so it would only make sense for them to come back to promote 24: Legacy, especially since it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce the cast and crew now that Kiefer Sutherland isn’t involved.

Update:

Fox’s Action Showcase: Prison Break and 24: Legacy Original Prison Break stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Robert Knepper, as well as producer Vaun Wilmott, show a special sneak peek of the upcoming revival. Followed by 24 cast members Corey Hawkins, Miranda Otto and Jimmy Smits, who join original series executive producers Howard Gordon, Manny Coto, and Evan Katz to preview the rebooted series. 12:30-1:30 p.m., Hall H.

Vampire Diaries

With Twilight, Vampire Diaries and The Originals it seems the young adult crowd can’t enough of vampires and unsurprisingly The Vampire Diaries has been renewed for an 8th season.Although I have to admit that I don’t think the show has been the same or as good since Nina Dobrev and her character Elena left the show. However you can bet this pretty cast will be back into the welcoming arms of their screaming fans at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.

Update 27/6/16: Warner Bros. Television confirmed that The Vampire Diaries will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, cast member Ian Somerhalder is confirmed to attend.

Saturday 23rd July at 11-11:45 a.m., Ballroom 20.

Vikings

History Channel’s successful original series has been renewed for a fifth season. Jonathan Rhys Meyers will join the cast in the fifth season which means he could be joining the other regular cast members on a panel if they come back to SDCC 2016. After previous years I would expect Vikings to be back at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016 with another amazing off site event. Last year fans could board a Vikings Longship, a San Diego Seal Boat that was transformed, which drove through Downtown, the Gaslamp Quarter, and sailed the harbour. After the ride they gave out complementary Vikings drinking horns.

UPDATE 26/4/2016: Actress Katheryn Winnick has confirmed through her official Twitter account that she and the Viking cast will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016.

Update 29/6/16:

The Vikings panel will take place on Friday 22nd July at 5:45PM-6:45PM in Room 6BCF.

Walking Dead

As AMC network’s highest rated show and a regular fixture at SDCC, it should come as so surprise that this show was renewed for a seventh season. The cast will definitely be back at SDCC or there will be many angry fans at SDCC 2016 and it’s highly likely that the first trailer for season seven would be revealed at SDCC 2016.

Walking-Dead-AMC

Update 10/6/16: According to AMC and SDCCBlog.com, the cast and crew of The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead will be at San Diego Comic-Con International 2016 with panels in Hall H. It should come as no surprise really especially since the character of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) has featured prominently on badges that have been sent out already to professionals.

Update 18/6/16: According to Robert Kirkman, who will sadly not be attending San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead panels will take place on Friday 22nd July, 2016 in Hall H from 12pm.

Update 30/6/16:

“THE WALKING DEAD”

·         Panel from 1:00-2:00pm PT on Friday, July 22 in Hall H

“The Walking Dead” panelists include cast members Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus,Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Michael Cudlitz, Sonequa Martin-Green,Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand, Josh McDermitt and Jeffrey Dean Morgan along with Executive Producer and Showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Executive Producer Robert Kirkman, Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd, Executive Producer, Director and Special Effects Make-up Supervisor Greg Nicotero and Executive Producer David Alpert.  The panel will be moderated by “Talking Dead” host Chris Hardwick.

·         Autograph session from 2:30-3:30pm PT on Friday, July 22 at AMC’s booth #4237

In addition to official series panels, AMC will host fan activations throughout the weekend, including a “The Walking Dead”-themed booth (#4237) in the Convention Center, where fans can stop by to take photos of themselves among Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) infamous “lineup” from the season six finale.

Wayward Pines

No one expected this limited series to be the success that it was, so much so that FOX ordered 10 more episodes. Although one has to wonder how season 2 will carry on the story since some of the cast won’t be returning as they are already committed to other projects. However San Diego Comic-Con 2016 would be the best way to introduce a new cast from season 2 to the world, so a panel could also be on the horizon. Maybe even the Wayward Pines car air fresheners will make a comeback as a freebie at the Fox booth?

Z Nation

z-nation

This show may not be experiencing the same dizzying heights of success like The Walking Dead but boy is it entertaining and anything can certainly happen in this show. As much as I enjoy watching The Walking Dead, it tends to drag along but this show just gets to the point and has more surprises up its sleeves to keep the viewer entertained. Make sure to watch out for the cameo by Game of Thrones creator and author George R.R. Martin. After Syfy announced its season 3 renewal, we can certainly expect the cast to be back at SDCC to promote their new season. If you haven’t seen this show yet, I highly recommend that you get round to it and you won’t be left disappointed.
