The Book Guild are releasing their latest project in June with an epic science fiction novel set across the universe.

“In 2179 humanity’s golden age of space expansion shatters when astronomer Jayne Flynn detects the first undeniable signs of alien intelligence in over a century. Simultaneously, an ancient, battle-scarredwarship erupts from beneath Earth’s crust, triggering a cataclysmic supervolcano.

Earth is suddenly caught in an aeons-old war between the Graxx, a civilisation capable of destroyinggalaxies, and the Trine – enigmatic beings from deep space with a disturbing connection to humanity itself. As the last survivors flee into the stars, a fragile alliance forms between the Earth Defense Fleet and the Trine.

But trust is fragile, and ancient grudges run deep. In the shadows, a ruthless human cult leader escapes captivity, intent on seizing control of humanity’sfuture. As terrifying truths emerge, preparations begin for a final confrontation, one that will decidewhether humanity ascends… or is wiped from existence.”

Hell Space: Revelations is written by father son duo D S Sangster and D J Sangster. Their shared passion for the science fiction genre kickstarted the process:

“As we both loved Sci-Fi, what started as just an idea tossed around between father andson over a glass of red wine turned into our first attempt to write a novel with a full blown universe withaliens and catastrophe wherever you turned. Our process was highly collaborative but very informal. We would meet over lunch at least once a week and just talk through and refine the story in our own heads. We would agree which bits we each wanted to write and go off and write separately at our own pace. We then read each other’s drafts, made suggestions and agreed the final version. It was a very smooth and argument free affair. We’re delighted with how the book turned out and that it is being published but to be honest we had such fun and got tospend such amazing quality time together that the end product is simply a bonus.”
