After the less than steeler performance of Shenmue 3, I never thought I would see the day that Shenmue would come back into the zeitgeist, but here we are. The original Shenmue was an open world action-adventure game that took the world by storm, back in 1999. It was incredibly ahead of its time and garnered a hardcore following. 

Set in 1986 in Yokosuka, Japan, the game followed teenage martial artist Ryo Hazuki. His life is forever changed when returns to his family dojo to witness a confrontation between his father Iwao and a Chinese man, Lan Di. Lan Di murders Ryo’s father and sets the young man on a course for revenge that takes him far from his native Japan.

The new Anime seems to follow the plot of the original game, where fans can see plenty of familiar characters and locations. It looks like something I really need in my life and cannot wait to see it.
