Tina Guo and Serj Tankian Just Released A Song Together and We LOVE IT !!!

I am a huge fan of Tina Guo she easily transcends the field of classical music and helps make the genera more main stream and popular while Serj Tankian is someone I have been following since I was in my teens. Both are music icons and both are incredibly talented. That is why I was so excited to see that they have released a track together. And it is the perfect mash up of their styles.

So if you are not familiar with these two titans of their respective genera’s then let me introduce you to them. Tina Guo  is a Chinese-American cellist from Shanghai. she has worked on several major films, Tv shows and video games. She has also released plenty of solo material and even released a book of prose.

Meanwhile Serj Tankian is an Armenian-American singer, musician, songwriter, producer, and political activist but we all know him best as the lead singer of System of a Down. He is a vocal range that is utterly unique to him and it goes perfect with the music of Tina Guo.

The song comes compete with a chill yet space age video that perfectly suits it.

The lyrics for the song are:

I want to know
where you go
To your home
That we all live in space

We need to find
A new way to survive
And we look up at you
But we’re all in space,

A hand in the hour of need,
An hour in the need of a drink,
A drink in the body of an addict,
An addict in the body of a child’s mind,
A child’s mind in the need of a father,

Spinning varieties of psycho plastic nonchalant
Star glazers at best.
A cello, a tangerine field
Engulfed by fire,

You were undressed
With your lies I confess,
But I don’t want to know,
Cause we’re going to space,

Children, let’s pretend
We can see everything
But we can’t,
I can make the pain go away,
No you can’t !

Going to space….

We need to find
That one thing that defines
What we are to this place
Yet we’re going to space,
Going to space,
Stay in our place,
We’re going to space,
Staying in our place
Going to space
We erase the past,
We erase our mask,

Our fate isn’t determined
By humanity,
Our fate is determined
By depravity.

If you are somehow unfamiliar with these two then I highly recommend you check this song out because we here at Nergeist absolutely love it.
