Masters of The Universe Revelation seems to be the perfect iteration of He-Man. Taking the unusual route this series is not a reboot, nor is it linked to Netflix She-Ra series. This version of He-Man is a direct sequel to the original series. This means that The New Adventures of He-Man are definitely not cannon and there is a good chance that the original She-Ra is also now not cannon – though that remains to be seen.
This is a Kevin Smith produced show meaning that we will be seeing or hearing a few of familiar voices such as Kevin Michael Richardson, Jason Mewes, Justin Long, Diedrich Bader and Harley Quinn Smith. But it will not just be actors from Kevin Smiths body of work we also treated to the voices of Chris Wood – who starred in Super Girl a series Kevin Smith has worked on, Mark Hamill – who appeared in Jay and Silent Bob Strike back, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Liam Cunningham, Lena Headey, Alicia Silverstone and Kevin Conroy.
And the show boasts more than just a fantastic cast it has music by Bear McCreary who has worked on Battle Star Galactica, God Of War and Godzilla:KIng of the Monsters. Round all this out with gorgeous animation and the fact that the team are bringing in a bunch of unused characters from cancelled He-Man toylines and you have a show made by fans, for fans.
This is one that looks more than a little bit promising.
