I grew up with Age Of Empires 2, it was a lent to me by a friend in 2001 and I quickly got my own copy of it and its expansion pack. Thus began a fbrutal four years where I doggedly played this game. I was obsessed with it. I would set up these massive battles pitting me against multiple computer opponents and over matches that would last more than 48 hours, I would stop and go to school, eat and sleep because you know I am not that crazy.
It would even be the first game I would play online with friend – over MSN, so yes I am really showing my age now. My strategy of using the worst infantry in the game combined with turning every one of my buildings into “mansions of death” is still something my friends joke about. (By the way this strategy actually worked it was just a tad unorthodox.)
Fueled my nostalgia I cannot help but desire to get my hands on Age of Empires iv.
With the game being helmed by relic entertainment I really cannot wait to get my grubby little hands on this game. The chance to control armies such as The Normans, Delhi Sultanate, Imperial Chinese and Mongols is just to hard to resist.
if you are from a younger generation and have never experienced old school strategy games then this will be a perfect place to start.
