A lot of you have been eagerly awaiting this film and with literally no one being able to get into a theater to see Hamilton, Disney have really picked the perfect moment to bring this to our home screens. 

If you do not know much about Hamilton well you are in for a real treat. Hamilton is a musical with music, lyrics, and book by Lin-Manuel Miranda that tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. Inspired by the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by historian Ron Chernow, the show’s music draws heavily from hip hop, as well as R&B, pop, soul, and traditional-style show tunes; the show also casts non-white actors as the Founding Fathers and other historical figures.

It was already a huge hit on Broadway but when they performed their opening number at the Tony Award’s the world got to see it and the world just wanted more.

This recording was inevitable, especially since Disney managed to snag Lim-Manuel Miranda to work on both Moana and The Force Awakens. You just knew that behind the scenes Disney where hoping to Bring Hamilton to the big screen and this live cast recording will be the perfect first step to make that happen.
