Snowpiercer was a Korean film about class distinction based on a French book about global warming. It is about the last remnants of Humanity who are living on a frozen Earth having to live inside a giant intercontinental train that cannot stop for fear of freezing. At the front of the train the wealthy live in utter luxury, while at the back the poor live, forced to subside on a diet of protein bars, made from dead bugs.

The original film was brought to us by Bong Joon-ho and is a fast paced thrill ride that stars Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton and Jamie Bell. This new series which has Bong Joon-Ho involved, will be able to take it’s time and explore the complexities of life on the train. Ultimately leading to our heroes over throwing the system or at least trying too.

Daveed Diggs, of Hamilton fame, will play our lead role and be our primary protagonist in the struggle against the rich. Meanwhile in opposition to him is the always wonderful Jennifer Connelly. Not only that bu Snowpiercer will also have Mickey Sumner, Annalise Basso, Sasha Frolova, Alison Wright, Benjamin Haigh, Roberto Urbina, Katie McGuinness, Susan Park, Lena Hall, Sheila Vand, Sam Otto, Iddo Goldberg, and Jaylin Fletcher. Rowan Blanchard, Steven Ogg, and Sean Bean will also join the main cast in the second season.

This is shaping up to be a great series and another hit for Netflix.
