In their latest collaboration, BuzzFeed and The CW joined forces to throw a kickass party honoring new television series Batwoman. Each detail was perfectly thought out and the theming was completely on point.

Talent from a range of CW shows attended including David Ramsey, Cress Williams, Katie Cassidy, and Brandon Routh, as well as various actors including Rufus Sewell and Yeardley Smith.

On arrival to the lobby of the venue, guests were immediately reassured they were in the right place with a giant bat signal on display. There was a long queue to get up to the rooftop but as soon as we entered, we knew it was worth the wait. Bats covered the wall and there were screens with the Batwoman trailer playing on loop to remind us that we were here to celebrate our new favourite superhero series.

Party guests were offered a choice of 3 themed cocktails: “Gotham’s Gin”, “Ruby Rose”, and “Batwoman’s Kiss”. We sampled all 3 which were delicious, even if Gotham’s Gin did turn our tongues black! Of course, like last year, there were a variety of other non-alcoholic and alcoholic drink options with very knowledgeable bartenders ready to whip up whatever drink requested.

Attendees were also well taken care of in the food department with an assortment of dishes being brought out including Cuban sandwiches and the vegetarian friendly kale and cauliflower salad.

Entertainment was provided in the form of great music and a beer pong table that was never short of competitors all night. The Bosco photo booth also returned after proving very popular with guests last year.

And if all that wasn’t enough, attendees were given free Batwoman merchandise to take home with them as keepsakes. This included t-shirts, badges, stickers and even temporary tattoos that a specialist was on hand to apply.

If we’re being honest, we thought last year’s BuzzFeed/CW event couldn’t be topped but they truly pulled out all the stops and outdid themselves for SDCC 2019. They did a fantastic job in not only increasing excitement for debuting series Batwoman but also giving guests a brilliant party experience. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next year!
