Fruits Basket is one of my all time favorite anime’s and has the distinction of being one of the first shows to make me all weepy. If you do not know the series, it follows the misadventures of Tohru Honda a young and semi-homeless girl in Japan who ends up befriending several members of the Sohma family. The Sohma’s are quite unique in that in each generation members of the family are cursed so that if they embrace someone of the opposite gender they turn into one of the animals of the Chinese Zodiac.
This was such a fun series and not only that but it had a lot of heart and years ago when all you little Fan Girls where arguing over the boys from Twilight you where missing the greatest love triangle ever with Tohru, Yuki and Kyo. The difference between this series and this is that this anime was completed after the Manga finished and will allow viewers to get a much more rounded appreciation for the characters and of course a much more satisfying ending. Mix that in with some stunning art work and you will have a must see series for 2019.
