Help Support The LAFD With This Print

I think we can all agree that the Wild Fires in California are truly horrifying. Before anyone criticizes me, yes there have been worse disasters in recent memory and I am not taking away from their impact but right now in this time these fires are truly monstrous. That is why I am so glad to see people coming out in support of the brave men and women fighting this disaster. One of the most ingenious and unique ways to support these heroes has been this 11×14 print created by artist Mark Englert, and distributed by Bottleneck Art Gallery.

When asked about the release, Bottleneck Gallery had this to say:

“We love superheroes, they give us hope, and allow us to aspire to be the best versions of ourselves, while also allowing our dreams to run wild with possibilities. And while we tend to deal with the fictional types of superheroes with some of our releases, there are often real superheroes out in the world that we hear about, and we want to support these heroes as best as we can.”

The print is a fake promotional poster for Pawnee National Park, which is where Parks and Recreation was set. It depicts the great outdoors man Ron Swanson staring out over a beautiful American Landscape. Its such a beautiful gesture to have this as a way to raise money because Ron himself loves everything about nature while Leslie the shows main character is someone who tirelessly fought to preserve the nature in and around her home town. Both these characters help raise awareness in their own unique ways.

(As someone who currently lives on a small island, relatively speaking, I will say this that I do envy anyone who lives on a continent, especially North America, which is someone where that has truly beautiful landscapes and in such a large variety.)

The print is just gorgeous and I could stare at it all day, to be honest even if your not a fan of Parks and Recreation I am sure you could appreciate the art of the print.

If this print looks familiar it is because a few years ago it was stolen and used without the artists permission, this time round I can assure you that he is 100% behind this release. Englert’s print runs for $25, and 100% of the profit will go to the LAFD in order to help acquire more hydration backpacks. These backpacks help the firefighters stay hydrated and alert as they work. If you, like myself, are interested and want to buy this print then check out the link here. Also if you would like to make a direct donation to the LAFD, you can do so on their website here.
