Harley Quinn Is Going To New York Comic Con

Looks like DC are bringing their A game to New York Comic Con with the preview for Harley Quinn being released online.

One thing I can appreciate is that this teaser is poking fun at the latest batch of DC programs and films for being way to dark. Apparently the team behind this are going to aim at making something completely violent and bonkers, which would be a welcome break from what DC are currently doing.

I am loving the animation it looks fluid and stunning, if they use this for the series I will be watching.

Another strength is the banter between Harley and Poison Ivy, with Ivy being the straight man to Harley’s madness, if they push this the series could be very funny.

Still one must wonder is this just a Deadpool knock off?

I know the trailer points out that the Deadpool series never got made but is weak sauce if they are just trying to fill the void that Marvel missed out on.

I really hope that DC do not drop the ball on this one.

Though having Diedrich Bader reprise his role as Batman was a great touch and has warmed me up to this series. But he wasn’t the only familiar voice, if you had a care ear you will have spotted The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco in the roll of Ms Quinn, which gets them automatic Nerd points. If that’s  not enough you will also have the voices of Lake Bell (In a World…, Wet Hot American Summer series, Childrens Hospital), Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Ron Funches (Powerless), JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Jason Alexander (Seinfeld), Wanda Sykes (Black-ish), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Natalie Morales (Bojack Horseman), Jim Rash (Mike Tyson Mysteries), Diedrich Bader (Veep), Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Veep), Chris Meloni (Happy!, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit).

As much as I worry this series wont live up to it’s own hype I cannot help but be optimistic. The comedy seems on point, the art is great and the voice cast is amazing, so yes I will be watching this.
