The Clone Wars Has Been Saved

I do not think anyone saw this one coming, Star Wars: The Clone Wars is being brought back for one final season. Many fans where left unfulfilled when the season was ended during Disney’s acquisition of the Star Wars properties, with the final season of The Clone Wars being cut down to six episodes and several plots where left unfinished. Some of the unfinished work was tied up in two follow up novels, while other plot threads where continued on in Star Wars: Rebels, still this really was not enough so it is great to see that Disney are listening to the fans and giving them what they want.

What made this entire reveal truly special was how they did it, at the 10th anniversary panel during San Diego Comic-Con featuring producers Dave Filoni and Athena Portillo, Ahsoka voice actress Ashley Eckstein, Anakin Skywalker voice actor Matt Lanter, and series composer Kevin Keine, as the panel was coming to an end they revealed this trailer followed by the hashtag #CloneWarsSaved. All reports say that the room went into a massive cheer, which is rare because it’s Star Wars fans, how often do we agree on anything?

The season will be 12 episodes long and launch next year on Disney’s exclusive streaming service.
