I guess the old statement is true that no one hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans. To borrow something that a fellow nerd once told me, this is the only fandom where grown men feel that it is ok to ridicule a child, sadly this sort of behavior did not end with the prequel’s. A few rare douche bag loser Star Wars fans have continued with this venomous hatred and have focused it at actress Kelly Marie Tran. Culminating this week when she decided to leave Instagram, her account is still active but when you log on all you see is a message stating, “Afraid, but doing it anyway”. Before we get into the nitty gritty I want to address something, something that I hope she reads:
Kelly Marie Tran comes off as someone completely delightful and fun and does not deserve any of whats being thrown at her and I hope she knows that for every sad lonely loser out there that does not like her, there are thousands of us who support her.
She has withstood a torrent of abuse online such as this not so lovely comment left on her “Wookiepedia Page” referring to her as Ching Chong Wing Tong:
I know I am going to sound like a little boy trying to be a big shot, but if you are the kind of pathetic garbage that “loves” Star Wars enough to do something like this, then I guess you go to conventions, so if you and me are at a convention and you think that this sort of action is funny, please come up to me and explain why this is hilarious, because frankly its blatant racism and does not belong in this modern world.
I get it, a lot of people hated Rose but if you cannot tell the difference between an actress and the character she plays then you are simply stupid and my only advice to you is walk to the top of a building and do the human species a favor by throwing yourself off of it.
If any of you dear readers our there know me, then you will know that I am far from the most PC person out there, I have scolded a close friend for being an SJW and I am known to be very inappropriate but this, this crosses a line and is blatantly racist. Though it goes beyond racism with sexist comments, which in the past have been directed at Daisy Ridley and lets not forget all the crap with the Phantom Menace and everything said towards CHILD ACTOR Jake Lloyd.
I really adore Star Wars and in recent years I have loved that the franchise is moving in a more inclusive direction, I just hate how there is an old guard that is resisting, all I can say is to any scum out there behind this, either get on board with diversity and or get out of the way and stay in the past.
This is a series for everyone, not just racist twats.
To end this on a more positive note, plenty of people are openly standing behind her and she still has plenty of fans.
