I’ve been waiting years for this moment, the triumphant return of Ryan Gosling to SNL. I can not tell you how many times I’ve watched his Papyrus video. In fact, I think I’ve built at least one entire friendship around it. This latest episode of SNL definitely did not disappoint.

Papyrus 2 was pretty dam funny, probably not as good as the original, but it somehow expanded the lore and took the skit in an insane but hilarious direction.

I’d have been happy if that was just it, but they took it one step further…

For the cold open, they brought back Kate McKinnon for the latest ridiculous instalment in the Close Encounters skit. If you are unfamiliar with this one, it’s where the cast are abducted by aliens, and Kate does everything in her power to break the other performers. It’s always funny.
