It’s been a while since a film has left me unsettled—never mind just a trailer—but DC Comics’ Clayface has managed that, and then some…

Directed by James Watkins, with a screenplay from Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, this marks the third film in the DC Universe (DCU). Tom Rhys Harries stars as Matt Hagen / Clayface, alongside Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella, and Eddie Marsan. The story follows Hagen, an actor whose face is disfigured, pushing him toward a desperate solution: a scientist (Ackie) who transforms his body into living clay. What follows looks like a dark, irreversible descent.

No one thought this would work—but that trailer? I’m hooked.

And honestly, if James Gunn has faith in this… I’m starting to as well.
