This year Paramount + delivered an excellent offsite. Themed like a ski lodge, they served up food, drinks, photo ops, games, and swag all connected to a range of shows/films. They also had the best playlist at Comic Con featuring music from Britney Spears, The Spice Girls, One Direction, etc. Who could ask for more?

Once attendees entered the lodge, they were given 2 drinks vouchers and 1 food voucher. The food was a “Good Burger” – from (you probably guessed it) Good Burger 2, the upcoming sequel being released on Paramount + in November. The Good Burger lived up to its name and it was great to see a vegetarian option offered as well.

The drinks vouchers could be cashed in for iced tea/coffee, beer, seltzer, soft drinks, a mocktail or a special themed 1923 cocktail. We tried the 1923 cocktail and it was delicious as well as surprisingly strong (well done, Paramount +).

The lodge was split into two rooms. The first room featured a station for new series Special Ops: Lioness which consisted of 3 games to decide which character from the show you were most like. There were also 2 photo ops: one for Spongebob, and one for Yellowjackets. The Yellowjackets activation also gave away playing cards and a mini pot of honey.

The second room was just as fun as the first. Star Trek had a caricature studio where the first 25-30 attendees had the opportunity to be drawn as Star Trek character by an artist. There were two more photo ops here as well: one for Pet Sematary: Bloodlines and one for 1923. The 1923 photo op gave out special 1923 root beer. Lastly, there was an Ink Masters station where you could get temporary tattoos from your favourite Paramount + shows. We opted for a Star Trek tattoo.

The debut of the Paramount + Lodge was a great success. It was well organised, well thought out and well executed. It was a nice escape from the busy convention center and provided a lot of fun things to do. It could easily become an annual offsite with Paramount + changing up the shows promoted each year. Fingers crossed for a 2024 appearance.
