Minari Shows A Different American Tale

Many of us grew up watching films about immigrants heading to America ti find their fortune or live their dreams. In the majority of these the characters where white, which is not a problem and does not take away from any of those films being good. But it means we are missing out on stories that could add a lot to the rich tapestry of life. Minari is one such film.

Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to a small Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes with the unexpected arrival of their foul-mouthed yet loving grandmother.

The fact that Steven Yeun is starring in this is enough to keep me interested. He is one of the modern worlds most underrated performers and I am glad that he is being given a chance to shine. I think this will be a very important film, one we will all need to watch.
