So Saved By The Bell Is Back

For 90’s kids this show was the holy grail of TV shows, so much so that it had 2 spin offs, several Tv Movies and also it was also a sequel series too. Every week we would tune in to see the adventures in Bayside High. The show was very much of it’s time and part of me thought it should stay in the past yet with the announcement of a new series my interest was piqued. The plot to the series will be as follows:

A new group of Bayside High students from “overprivileged” and working-class families, among the latter of which were transferred to the school as part of a plan by now-California Governor Zack Morris, whose administration experiences controversy for closing too many low-income high schools—to send lower-income students to the highest-performing schools in the state.

Honestly it is the trailer and probably uses shots from the pilot only so I will not be to judgey but overall the stuff with the kids seems weak sauce, while Mario Lopez seems right at home as the charming yet egocentric Slater once more. If anything he will be an utter joy to watch in this show. Though it has Tracey Wigfield working on it and she is a comedy writer who won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 for her work on 30 Rock, as well as working on The Mindy Project and Great News, so I have high hopes for this series.
