San Diego Comic-Con has steadily built up a reputation for having the best panels and previews that television to offer. And, this year is no different. From reunions to reboots, sci-fi to comedy, cartoon to live action, there’s a lot to choose from. To make your decisions a little easier, we’ve put together a list of panels we’re most excited about.
The 100
What: If you’re a fan of The 100, you won’t want to miss this, as it will probably be their last panel at SDCC. They’re heading into their final season, and with the thrilling events of the season 4 finale, there’s a lot to talk about. The core cast will be there to answer questions and if we’re lucky we may get a sneak peek at the upcoming season.
When: 12.30pm-1.30pm
Where: Ballroom 20
Syfy: Battlestar Galactica Reunion
What: This is it. The panel we’re most excited for it. BSG has been off the air for 8 years and we’ve missed it ever since. It was a revolutionary and innovative series, and nothing has ever replaced it. So we’re very happy at the prospect of a reunion with the cast and crew to discuss their time on the show, and what the future may hold or the BSG franchise.
When: 2.30pm-3.30pm
Where: Ballroom 20
Disney XD’s DuckTales
What: There’s no hiding our love for Donald Duck and his family. So we’re thrilled they’re getting their own show, in this reboot. There will be a superb voice cast, including David Tennant, on hand to discuss the series in what promises to be an excellent panel. Our advice is to queue early for this one.
When: 3.30pm-4.30pm
Where: Room 6A
Stephen King’s Mr. Mercedes
What: Stephen King + TV + talented actors = ultimate winner. This new series will be making its debut at SDCC and it seems like the perfect fit. Dark and thrilling, the sneak peek promo was everything we hoped for, and left us wanting more. Our only question is, with such an amazing cast, why is the panel in such a small room?
When: 1.30pm-2.30pm
Where: Room 8
Rick and Morty
What: Let’s get schwifty! Rick and Morty is finally back after a long break between season 2 and 3. We’re expecting the panel to make the wait worth it. Creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon will be there with the cast, and with as great a moderator as Brian ‘Q’ Quinn (Impractical Jokers), it’s sure to be a fun panel.
When: 1.15pm-2.00pm
Where: Indigo Ballroom, Hilton Bayfront
iZombie
What: After last season’s events, we have a lot of questions, and we’re excited to get them answered at SDCC. iZombie panels are always very entertaining, and we’re predicting that this year will be no different.
When: 11.15pm-12.15pm
Where: Ballroom 20
Midnight, Texas
What: NBC’s premiering summer series is an adaptation of the books from Charlaine Harris. Harris is most known for True Blood and if this show is as good as that, then we’re in for a real treat. SDCC’s attendees are very lucky in that they will get to see a first look at the series, as well as a Q&A with cast/creative.
When: 4.00pm-5.15pm
Where: Room 6BCF
Archer
What: A real favourite amongst both comedy and animations fans, Archer is back. Last season completely changed the game, so we’re really intrigued to see the direction the show will now go in. Archer has a genuinely hilarious cast, and their panels never disappoint.
When: 5.15pm-6.05pm
Where: Indigo Ballroom, Hilton Bayfront
Game of Thrones
What: The show that everyone is talking about, Game of Thrones is back with its penultimate season. A huge selection of cast will be on hand to answer questions. The best thing, however, about this panel is that the first episode of the season will have aired a few days prior, so the cast will have plenty to talk about.
When: 1.30pm-2.30pm
Where: Hall H
TV Guide Magazine’s Fan Favourites
What: This isn’t a traditional TV panel. It instead includes a number of actors from across a variety of shows. You’ll get to hear them compare their experiences and tell personal anecdotes from set. There’s something for everyone on this panel, which is what it makes such fantastic viewing.
When: 5.30pm-6.15pm
Where: Room 6BCF
