Blade Runner 2049 Experience is heading to San Diego Comic-Con 2017

Something exciting is heading to San Diego Comic-Con this month, Blade Runner fans and potential fans can experience the world of Blade Runner thanks to Warner Bros, Alcon Entertainment and Johnnie Walker.  The activation will be open to the public during San Diego Comic-Con 2017 from Thursday, July 20th, to Sunday, July 23rd. Everyone is welcome as you do not need a San Diego Comic-Con badge to enter. The Blade Runner 2049 Experience takes place right across the street from the convention center (though exact location is TBA). You can make a same-day appointment at the activation, or if you’re willing to stand in line, you can do that too.

Setting the tone, the experience begins as guests enter through a gallery of art from “Blade Runner 2049.” An Oculus VR experience will immerse visitors in the world of the film. But that is just the start: as the VR presentation ends, guests will walk into a neon-lit Los Angeles street scene, where they should be prepared to experience what our potential future holds, including impromptu tests to determine if they are humans…or replicants.

The actual Spinner from the new film will be on display, along with other vehicles featured in the film. Costumes worn by the stars of “Blade Runner 2049” will also be on display, and actors dressed in wardrobe from the film will be amongst the crowd, furthering the sense that guests have stepped into the Los Angeles of the future. There will also be giveaways for fans, along with other surprises.

In addition, for the first time, fans will get an exclusive peek of the limited-edition Johnnie Walker Black Label The Director’s Cut bottle, inspired by the original, elusive prop from the first film. Details on this limited-edition whiskey blend will be announced in the coming months. Guests 21 and over will also have the chance to enjoy a Johnnie Walker whisky tasting experience.

The Blade Runner 2049 Experience will run from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday; and 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free.

There will also be a Blade Runner 2049 panel (as part of Warner Bros film panel) on Saturday 22nd July in Hall H from 11.30AM-1.30PM. The panel for the long-awaited Blade Runner 2049, Alcon Entertainment’s sequel to the cult classic takes us 30 more years into the future, includes stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, as well as Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Lennie James and Mackenzie Davis, writers Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and the film’s director, Denis Villeneuve.
