KTown Cowboys is one of the many great films that will have its world premiere at the 2015 SXSW Film Festival.
We’ve all partied hard in our youth and some of us probably still do, albiet just not like we used to. With all the parties and open bars happening at the upcoming 2015 SXSW, KTown Cowboys is the perfect choice for a film to watch before you go out. It may provide some inspiration or it could be a wake up call.
From Executive Producer Ken Jeong, from the Hangover trilogy series and Community, comes a film about 5 friends from Korea Town, Los Angeles or KTown for short. These friends used to party hard on a daily basis until they grew up and their priorities changed to family and business. That is until they decide to do it again to relive their glory days.
With these 5 friends you have; the comic, the adoptee, the meathead, the liquor store owner and the mogul. Some will find these as stereotypes or cliches but i find that these are characters you can relate to. As someone who has friends with family business, it resonates with them as they too feel the pressure to take over the family business one day. In the end this is a film about not forgetting to have some fun, no matter what life throws at you.
Ktown Cowboys is directed by music video director Daniel (DPD) Park, produced by Brian Chung and Greg Bishop, and written by Danny Cho (Mad TV, Parks and Recreation).
