I Guess Post Malone Is Our New Dark Lord

With the release of the new Lord of the Rings Magic the Gathering set came possibly one of the rarest trading cards ever crafted, The One Ring. yes the One Ring, you know the:

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie”

That one ring…

If you are not in the know then let me explain, trading cards is big business, some of these cards sell for a fortune. The rarer the card the more it sells for now imagine that if there is only one card and it’s a massive release, well you can imagine it’s going to sell for a lot.

Though there are many One Ring Cards in this set what makes this one so special is that this one is serialized and covered in gold foil and etched with the original Elvish Black Speech inscription, similar to the Ring in the books and Movies.

So for the past few months nerds across the world have been hunting for the One Ring. One lucky fan got it, but that was only the beginning of the story.

Brook Trafton was the lucky fellow and with the success of finding the card he managed to find a buyer. His buyer was none other than Post Malone. Trafton wanted to make sure the card went to a Magic the Gathering Player and only one person came to mind.

“When I found the One Ring, the first person who came to mind was Post Malone,” Trafton commented on the video. “I have played MTG since I was a kid and obviously it would be amazing to keep this card. But for a guy like me, being able to sell it is life-changing. I just really hoped it would go to someone who would appreciate it as much as I do.”

Trafton would go on to say:

This is my dream come true. Meeting Post Malone and him buying the One Ring card from me is literally a moment straight out of a fairytale. Post Malone, Magic: The Gathering, you have changed my life. Things like this don’t happen to people like me, I guess it’s magic. I am forever grateful.”

A happy ending to everyone involved. Personally I’m glad that the card went to an actual fan and not some rich clout chaser.
