The Legend of Korra: Pro-bending Arena

While enjoying my morning coconut-green tea I decided to go to Kickstarter, I thought to myself,  let’s have a wee look, what harm could it do? Oh how wrong I was. I am in my 30’s and still struggling with budgeting issues, what with travel, expensive hobbies and keeping a significant other well fed, these all cost money my friends ! Money that should not be near Kickstarter. Usually I have the will power to avoid spending any of my hard earned money on a project, no matter how wonderful it is but today my will power is truly being tested. Any and all of our long time subscribers will know that I am a huge fan of the Avatar series and don’t be shocked here people but I am also a giant nerd, who love’s his board games. So how do these factors affect me on this beautiful morning, well I just discovered that on Kick starter there is a new game to back The Legend of Korra: Pro-bending Arena… MIND BLOWN.

This is what they have to say about the project: THE LEGEND OF KORRA: PRO-BENDING ARENA is board game set in the Avatar universe from Nickelodeon’s global smash hit Avatar: The Legend of Korra. A miniatures board game designed by Sen Foong-Lim and Jessey Wright, The Legend of Korra: Pro-bending Arena pits 2 players against each other in a sports game that features deep, strategic, head-to-head gameplay, highly detailed and dynamic miniatures, deck crafting and building, and team customisation.

All you Fire Ferret fans will be finally be able to kick some Wolfbat ass, but don’t worry there will be plenty of other teams to play as, with customisatable play system that will let you truly get to the heart of the game, you can truly create a style of play that suits you. I absolutely love this especially with a deck building system it adds a certain variety to each game that makes each experience unique and avoids people being bogged down in the same boring old slug fest each time.

This is a fantastic idea for a game, it takes the only structured form a combat in Avatar (bar maybe an Agni-Ki) and makes it into a fun little game that even non Avatar Fans can appreciate.
