SDCC 2025 Recap: Fandom party

One of the biggest and best events is the annual Fandom bash. They are known for fun and immersive activations, free flowing drinks, great swag, and top notch entertainment. And this year was no different. In conjunction with Z2 Comics, Elf on the Shelf, Bandai Namco’s Code Vein II, and Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe, the party took place at the Hard Rock Hotel rooftop.

Each partner offered up different experiences with Z2 Comics bringing a 360 degree camera that gave people a chance to strike their best pose. Elf on the Shelf was there to pose with fans and to host a scavenger hunt. Another photo op included the life-sized replica of the Motorcycle Forma from the upcoming Code Vein II, brought by Bandai Namco. But it was Universal that went all out giving attendees a taste of the new Epic Universe theme park by bringing five incredible worlds for them to explore. These included the Wizarding World of Harry Potter where fans could win a Niffler, the Celestial Park bar where guests could sip on Mike’s Harder Lemonade, and a How to Train a Dragon photo op with Hiccup.

Alongside the Celestial bar, Fandom provided a general open bar which kept attendees well hydrated. Light bites were also provided. However, this year instead of having food stations, staff handed out canapés including shrimp, pork bao and ceviche. Shoutout to the shrimp, we had far too many.

For pre-concert entertainment, there were incredible ballon dancers on stilts that we’re still in awe of today.

However, the main event of course was the All American Rejects concert. This was the standout highlight of the party with the band bringing so much energy and excitement, that nobody could resist dancing and singing along. They played all the crowd favourites including Gives You Hell and Dirty Little Secret. In a surprise that no one saw coming, Brandon Routh appeared alongside them in a Spider-Man costume.

Brandon Routh wasn’t the only actor in attendance with talent across various mediums appearing and mingling with fans. Stars including The Lawrence Brothers, BJ Britt, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Malcom Barrett, and Instagram icon Michael Slayers all attended.

And at the end of a great night, Fandom gave guests a swag bag filled with comics, a chocolate bar, poster, and CD.

There’s a reason the Fandom party is beloved by both fans and talent alike. It always has the perfect combination of entertainment, food and drink, souvenirs, and activities. Fans always leave happy, having had an unforgettable night. And this year, might have been their most impressive party yet. We can’t wait to see what they do for 2026!
